Houston Nurse Residency Fall 2021

Published

I wanted to start a thread since Memorial Hermann is having their Pre Match Open House.   Was anyone able to attend The Woodland's zoom?   I missed it and was wondering which units would be hiring?

For HM TMC they mentioned that's its on 08/02 from 11am-4pm. They did not mention if it was online or in person or what specific time our interview will be. I am a bit concerned because this is so confusing and I don't want to miss the interview. Did anyone hear something else?

I don't want to miss it either.  I'm not in Houston so I'm really hoping it is virtual. They did mention that they would add addition times if needed in the email they sent me.

I just got an email and my interview is virtual!

do y’all think methodist is done making decisions for 2nd interviews? wondering if I should move on or keep emailing/trying to get a response.

Also, has willowbrook reached out to anybody?

I interviewed for willowbrook for the 1st interview and haven't received an email about a 2nd interview either. I was kind of wondering the same thing. But I will let you know if I hear anything.

OMG CONGRATS!!

Congratulations!

Received an offer from HCA, but found out that they are in a classroom for 5 weeks before starting at the hospital.  Is that correct?

Does Hermann Memorial, St. Luke's, and Texas Children's residency program work that way also?  After 4 years of school not planning on doing 5 weeks of class training if not necessary.

Hey! What unit is it? Yes depending on the unit there is a certain number of weeks of didactic where it’s like a 40 hr a weekJob with OR for example being the longest at 9 weeks didactic

Anyone heard back from Houston Methodist?

It is for cardiac step down.  She said all the HCA residency programs start with didactic in class for weeks.  Not sure about you but I'm not planning to go back to school after 4 years.  On the job residency is what I plan to look for.
