  1. hi there! yes I accepted in September. I’ve been working there since. I love it, you should accept!
  2. Hi! I wish I could help you with your question. I'm a new grad who just accepted a job in an adult hem/onc floor. how easy was it for you to transfer within to the peds unit? I'm looking to gain some experience in oncology and develop a basic understanding of chemotherapy administration, etc. and then transfer to the peds hem/onc unit (my dream) after a few years. will I struggle with this even if it's within the same hospital? I know nothing about transfer dynamics and all that. thank you for your help ❤️
  3. Hi all! I created this thread a while ago when I was feeling very inadequate and not confident in myself. I was comparing myself to my peers in DFW who were able to land jobs with ease. I failed to realize that Houston area hospitals are slightly more competitive and that I needed to practice my interview skills. I took a break from applications and applied again this Summer. I landed 4 interviews, and received 2 offers from amazing institutions! I will be starting as an oncology nurse at MD Anderson in a few weeks ? After a few years, I hope to transfer to my dream unit- peds hem/onc. I'm so happy that I decided to wait. I was able to take a break for my mental health, practice my skills, and now I'm on the track to achieving my dream!
  4. Hi yall! I’ve decided to go with a different offer, so I will be declining the PICU position at TCH. Does anyone have the email of the male interviewer? If so, could you DM it to me? I’d like to email him and thank him for his time.
  5. both are amazing places to work! magnet status, great reviews... main difference is one has significantly better pay/benefits. Also, one offer is Adult Hem/Onc and the other is PICU! Because of covid, I did not have an oncology or pediatric clinical, so I don’t know how to decide which unit to choose ?
  6. How would y’all make the decision between 2 offers? Both in TMC, both are critical patient populations, etc. My heart is pulling me one way but my head is telling me the other!
  7. yes they called me today! I was at work though so couldn’t discuss any details and am calling them back tomorrow to talk about that. I did get an offer from MDA as well so I have to make a decision by tomorrow. they are giving me 24 hours
  8. I had an interview with them Friday, August 6th and got a call 2 hours later but missed it. Second call came in the following Monday with an offer
  9. OMG! I got an offer from the leukemia unit in the TMC as well! ?
  10. Hi! I’d like to mention that when I scheduled the interview for PICU it was online!! Just something interesting since last time it was in person. I also had a 3.7 upon graduation.
  11. Hi! I got the call to interview at 8pm today.
  12. Hi! I am in the same boat and am wondering if you have any advice? I just accepted an offer to work on a Leukemia unit, night shift with a patient load of I'm assuming 1:5-1:6. Previously, I was doing pediatric home health for 3.5 years! I am super nervous and feel as if my knowledge is lacking, as I was not able to complete an oncology clinical rotation during covid of last year, the time it was designated for. If you could give me any advice it would be so appreciated ❤️
  13. anyone here receive/accept an offer for MD Anderson??
