Houston New Grad Residency Programs for Fall 2016 graduates

Hello everyone! Has anyone heard back from residency programs around the houston/ TMC area? Houston Methodist, Harris Health, and MD Anderson? I'm still waiting for Memorial Hermann, TCH and St Luke's to post their app..

Do all of these hospitals require a contract to work for them after the residency program? if so, how long are the contracts usually for? I will be graduating in a year, so just trying to figure some things out. Thanks and good luck to everyone in the process now!

Did anyone else get a job at Harris Health LBJ or Ben Taub?

I haven't been contacted. I completed the application for Ben Taub but was never contacted. I did get a job with MD Anderson though. They offered me the job back in July.

MD Anderson doesn't require a contract. The residency program is for 12 months :). I start in October.

You're welcome Robin! I am not sure about Texas Children's. I don't think they require a contract either, but I am not positive on that. It's a great hospital though :).

Hi Robin,

I am starting with TCH's new grad program in October. They do not require a contract and I believe they are done hiring for the Fall, but I would check with them just in case!

Hey Jess! Thanks so much for your reply! I wont actually finish my BSN until August 2017, I am just trying to plan ahead since I may be moving cities in the future, which is why I was curious as to which hospitals lock you into a contract. Thanks again so much though, and good luck starting the program in October!! :)

I know for sure Memorial Hermann requires a 2 year commitment.

I graduate in December also. I know Memorial Hermann and Methodist have their residency applications up for February 2017. But I don't know about anyone else. When does TCH do theirs?
