Let's keep each other updated! These are the Houston area residencies that I have applied for:

- Harris Health

- Methodist Perioperative

- St. Luke's General Surgery

Has anyone heard anything from Houston Methodist yet?

Also N. Maren, your experience with Harris Health is interesting. I applied and had the LBJ and Women's Health (Mother/Baby) combination as my first choice, and Ben Taub was my second choice. I didn't hear back from LBJ or Ben Taub at all. I had to call and find out if I would be hearing back and they said they had pretty much already decided who they would hire, so it wasn't likely. I was actually told when I asked that they had no Women's Health positions available, which is obviously not true going by your post. :down: Have no idea why she lied to me. It's just funny they called you to interview for the exact thing I wanted, lol. I'm pretty disappointed though because I drove all the way from Florida to go the Information Session and it would have been nice to have the opportunity to at least interview. Oh well, on to the next one.

I feel like they are just arbitrarily tossing applications around without regard for the applicants. Though the recruiter you spoke to may not have actually lied... it seems like they themselves don't have much information about things. They seem to just receive some sort of "list" from the hiring managers and that's all they know. Maybe different recruiters have different parts of the list? Who knows... At any rate, they seem to be pretty disorganized and not great with communication. I feel like it was a bullet dodged...

The recruiter I spoke to is actually the one in charge of the GN Program. :sarcastic: I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say her name here. Everything happens for a reason, and like you said, maybe it was bullet dogged.
