Hey all i am a fall 2012 applicant, i have taken all classes and will be taking pharm in the spring 2012 session. Lets support each other in this process!!
Hello everyone! I am wondering how competitive the ADN program is. It is evident that there is a great number of people interested in the program (by the looks of the ER sessions) but I wonder how many actual applicants they will have? Is the Pharmacology course so difficult that it weeds out most students?
Good luck to everyone!
Hi everyone... I have a few questions about HCC's application process.
Y'all were talking about taking pharm through HCC before admission--what if I have already taken Pharm through another college? Will it transfer? It was a pretty difficult class and I squeaked out a "B" (whew)!
I am applying for 3 ADN programs for Fall 2012. I have taken basic Biology, A&P 1 & 2, Micro, Pharm... well all prereqs and I will have an AS in Natural Sciences before the fall. My science GPA is a 3.6 but overall my GPA is 3.3. I take the TEAS V on Feb. 10th and I have the ER meeting on Jan. 19th.
I say all of that to say this--it seems that each of the programs I am applying for qualify their applicants in TOTALLY different ways. It is a little bewildering.
I am also taking the HESI A2 at the end of January--are the two tests similar? Sorry to ramble but I have SO many questions, worries, concerns, etc. This must be pre-application submission jitters...

hey, good news yes it transfers, as long as you get a 90 on the hcc math drug calclation test, i cant believe they habe 180 seats, thats sooo many!
I went to the ER last Tues. (Jan. 10). The counselor I spoke with told me that if I make an A in pharm I would be exempt from the math calculations test. I am enrolled in pharm for the spring semester and will be submitting my application Jan. 17. The counselor I spoke with told me not to worry about getting in the program after she looked over my transcripts, she said with my GPA I surely would be accepted to start the program in the Fall. I have to get in before they require algebra, it kills me to do linear equations and graphing! Good luck everyone who is applying!!

I am registered for an information session at HCC next Tuesday. I attended a previous session in March of 2010. The requirements sound as if they have changed quite a bit. I have been working on the pre-reqs and core class ever since the summer session 2010. My GPA is 3.85 and I have completed all pre-reqs and core classes for both the program at HCC and Lone Star. Next semester I am taking Govt 2302, Stat, Hist 1302 and a Lit. class which will transfer to a BSN program. I think I will have an associate in science before I get accepted into a program, I am only short 3 hours of CHEM.
