Hello hello!
For those who were recently in San Francisco, how much did you get for housing stipend and with which agency and facility? I heard of $4500/month (Fastaff), $2700 (Onward), and $2400 (AMN). I read back in the forum about someone getting $3000 in 2000. Not sure what I should be expecting for the negotiation.
Thanks in advance!

A housing stipend is only part of your compensation. Hourly and per diem (or M&IE) play big parts. The main idea is to get your total compensation as high as possible, and if the agency is willing (and you have a tax home), and then getting the portion of tax free reimbursements (housing, travel, and per diem) to as high a percentage of the total compensation as you can. Getting a sample housing stipend in isolation from the rest of the compensation will not help you. Some of your quoted numbers may be combining housing and per diems.
There is also little point in negotiating with only one agency without competitive quotes from other agencies. It might be great to get one agency to pay you more than their first number, but it could still be 20% less than another agency for a similar assignment. Only way to find out is to get other quotes, not random numbers from random travelers with random years of experience in random specialties.
