Your hourly rate seems a few dollars lower than at my hospital for nurse with 3 years experience (hospital in Illinois) But as far as charge pay, anyone who takes charge gets $1.00 more per hour. There are 4 or 5 nurses on nights that rotate to charge. I like to do it occasionally - not for the extra money-- but for the challenge. I enjoy it.
i am a newly inexperienced lvn in fort worth, texas who earns $18.50 hourly at a nursing home. i was barely issued my lvn license a little over 3 months ago. my friend is also a new grad lvn, and she earns $20.00 hourly at a texas nursing home.
wow, it looks like i need to move!
here in san angelo (about 250 miles sw from you), i (new grad lvn) will start at $10.94 at a hospital.
Hi
I work in Chicago. I don;t know where you are in Indiana.
When we are Charge, we make $1.00 more per hour also.
However, our base pay is Much higher.Of course, our cost of living may be higher.
Personally, I know lots of places pay $1.00/hr. However, I really feel that the work that goes along with being Charge is worth more.
In our hospital as chrge, we get a full patient assignment besides being in charge--at least on the night shift. On days and PM's, they get either no patients or 1 or 2.

I have been an ICU RN for 3 years. I'm always on time, work extra, and have always gotten good yearly reviews. My supervisor really wants me to start taking charge. We live in Indiana and I know that the pay here is probably lower than the rest of the country.
I only make 19/hr working 12 hour nights (it would be upped to 20/hr if I decide to take charge, which doesn't seem worth the hassel to me for a dollar more an hour).
Are the rest of you making way more than me? or should I just stop complaining.
