I posted a bunch of hotels close to UPMC Shadyside on your other post which is under "The Break Room" (I think). I'll see if I can copy it for you here.

wowo i just found it thanks! for some reason it wouldn't let me pull it up at first!

now is the school close to the hospital? i really can't remember exactly where the test is going to be at...i'm at work and the address is at home.

thanks so much!

It looks like lectures on are both "Motor Square Garden" and Chatham College. From the website for UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing:

"Motor Square Garden is conveniently located near UPMC Shadyside. To get to Motor Square Garden from UPMC Shadyside proceed East on Centre Avenue and make a left onto South Aiken Avenue. Turn right onto Baum Boulevard. Motor Square Garden is located at 5900 Baum Boulevard and will be on your right."

Two of my husband's sisters went to Shadyside School of Nursing (~20 years ago) and both are excellent nurses.

thanks! i'm really hoping that i get accepted...one step at a time i know! =) the math portion of the test is the only one i'm not so confident about...we'll see!

thanks for all the infor...i'm calling around now to find a hotel for that weekend!

I have heard really good things about their Nursing School.

If you have the time, take a jaunt down into ShadeySide. It's a very interesting area of Pittsburgh - kind of historic, kind of ethnic, kind of artsy and hip, lots of cool bars, bands, restaurants and coffee houses.

Good Luck!

do you think it's a "safe" place to live...i'm 22 (23 in 11DAYS)

i've lived alone for over a year now, but it's kinda different when you are actually living OUT of state from your family by yourself!

thanks

Sad to say... I have no idea where their school classes are held and I went to University of Pittsburgh and also have had 2 of my kids at Shadyside Hosp. As far as the hospital... I liked it and will be going back in a few months for baby #3. The Shadyside area is a pretty nice area to live in ... my sister did for a few years while in nursing school (at Pitt). There are alot of Pitt, CMU, Chatam and Carlow students in that area, but it isn't crazy like a college/ party area.

the school is located at 5900 baum ave...motor square garden?!

i've lived on my own for the past 4 years, but always within 20 minutes of my family, and i lived in MS for a year, but i was married so someone else that i know was with me...this is going to be strange for me when i'm over 4 hours away and i'm by myself!...oh well i'm sure it will be fine...of course i need to be ACCEPTED first...so what am i so worried about?! LOL

7 days until the big test...counting down...3 days until my birthday....
