sooooo...i get called from hr to set up a time for physical/drug screening for my new job in the hospital and i was confirming a couple of things with them while i had them on the phone. well, one of the things that i asked her was what the weekend differential was, and she told me that they don't pay weekend difs. is there anyone out there with this scenario? i could have sworn that during the interview my manager said that there was. it's not a huge deal, but i was just wondering.
i've worked as a pct in two hospitals, often doing straight weekends (due to my school schedule), and i've never had a weekend pay differential. i did make more for working 2nd and 3rd shift, though.
No weekend diff for CNAs at the hospital where I work, which I was told is because we don't have a so-called "weekend plan" for CNAs due to lack of coverage. Every full time CNA has to work every other weekend.
There is evening and night diff, but you make the same amount of evenings and nights...which is odd. Oh...and they just increased the shift diff from $0.30 to $0.50. Woohoo. :-/
The hospital I use to work at we got shift differential .....week-end differential and DOUBLE TIME on holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and the 4th of July. That was REALLY good money especially during the Holidays.... I would make $27.00 an hour as a NA II if I chose to work on them.
I'm a CNA at a hospital and I am required to work every other weekend and receive no shift dif for it. However, I get 15% shift dif for working evenings, which works out well for me, so I don't complain. Nurses don't get weekend shift dif for the weekends, either. In fact, they have to work every forth weekend.
