Hi All
You might remember me from earlier in the year with my problems of being bullied during 2 of my rotations. Well I tried so hard, worked so hard, got advice, acted on it, made friends, asked for feedback and thought I could turn things around. The jobs for grade 2's for next year went up and I applied, I had some great referees and my feedback had been good. But guess what...I didn't get an interview, all my friends did. So my career at the hospital seems to be over. I am devistated and have a strong feeling I've been blackballed by the grad coordinator (not that you can ever prove it). I'm having trouble coping with my shifts and depression is well and truely on the way. I'm considering my options, I just need to get over this horrible year and find somewhere more supportive. Thanks for reading...

Hi,
At the end of my grad year I packed my bag, walked out that door and have never been back. There are plenty of jobs out there. Apply to do community nursing and you will probably be welcomed with open arms.

Agreed - one door closes and another opens - and sometimes you have to slam shut a door before that next opportunity comes along.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate your support! Onwards and upwards as they say!

I had a horrid year as an older grad a couple of years ago. recently applied to my local regional hospital for a job on the medical ward. Heard all the rumours that they are desperate, I even work there occasionally on bank, applied for a job with the young NUM (male) and some other supervisior, (young female) and was quite devastated when I received an email to say I was unsuccessful, without any explaination at all...I did half a grad year at this hospital in 2003, and received excellent reports, had no problems with bullying and received to comments from pts via the manager on my care during their stay....so beats me, I am trying to put together an email to tell this young buck that is no way to treat a colleague, fat and over forty or any other.....another door opens somewhere else, thank goodness...just have to wait for it to open.
Think Queensland is calling, always wanted to return there...c'on PA answer my email.m
ps it was Horrid because no-one helped and there was no team work whatsoever. left because of child care. LRH has lost a dam good nurse.
