Hopkins vs. UMD

Can anyone here give some insight on the differences between the two programs? If you had to decide between the two schools which would you choose...granted JHU is twice as expensive! Is it worth it? And how much can they really help you financially? Are there any major differences between the two schools in terms of education, personal attention, outside opportunities, clinicals, job search??? I would greatly appreciate any input!

I'm not really adept at these things, but is there someone out there who wants to start a yahoo group for the traditional bachelors students who will start this Fall? If not, we might just "tag along" with you accelerated students!!!

Any news on the scholarships yet? (or expected date of notice??)

Good luck with the home hunting! I'm a native Baltimorean, though i did live out of town for a few years after I first got married, so i guess I'm lucky not to have to worry about that! Let me know if you need any "native" help!

You can start a yahoo group; it's very easy. I can give you directions if you send me a private email through the forum. When do you guys have your accepted students day for the traditional session?

There's no news on scholarships yet. They said they are looking at them right now and we would hear something the 1st week in April. On the Yahoo group we are keeping each other informed when we hear...

As for scholarships, I am glad to hear that because when i got my phone call last week about my acceptance the lady told me that i'd hear by the end of this week about the scholarships and since its that time i was getting nervous....also, i was hoping to find out before i had to send in my non-refundable deposit, but i guess i better send it in today...

our accepted students day is april 1. what about you?

I'm leaving Sunday March 20, for training for a month, then its off to the Middle East. Hope you guys keep me in your prayers :)

Mine is April 1st too! I bet JHUSON has both the accelerated and trad BSN RN students at the same session! See you there!

We found a Townhouse in Havre de Grace this weekend, and put a deposit down on it. We are moving in around the 1st of May. I hope the commute won't be too horrible. When we meet on the first, I'm sure I will have lots of questions!

Can you any one suggest a nice inexpensive hotel to stay at in Baltimore for the Hopkins accepted students day on April 1st? I'm not too familiar with the area.

I'm also looking for 1 BR apts for June; any suggestions? Thanks.
