I recently applied for the Fall 2015 BSN program at UNG in Dahlonega and was wondering if anyone could ease my mind. I know I'll have to wait a few months to find out if I am accepted and the wait is driving me crazy. Do I have a good chance with a GPA of 3.2 and a HESI score of 96%?
@los0908 How did you study for HESI A2 exam?? Are you gonne wait one sesmter or two to apply??? bc North GA only (I heard) accepts students every fall..
Sorry for asking for many questions. I am going to be done with my pre-req...nothing to do until Decmeber to take my HESI A2 and no classes to take and I was just wondering if not taking classes going to affect how nursing school views my 2015/2016 school year..
I used this book to prepare for the HESI A2: Admission Assessment Exam Review / Edition 3 by HESI | 9781455703333 | Paperback | Barnes & Noble
It's not so bad. I personally though that TEAS V was MUCH harder. I scored a 77% on the TEAS V whereas on the HESI A2 I scored an 84%. And the application deadline for Fall 2015/Spring 2016 has passed. This year, the University of North Georgia has started a 2016 Cohort in Gainesville. But the deadline to apply for Spring 2016 has applied. To being school in Fall 2016/Spring 2017 you would have to apply to the Nursing program THIS Fall 2015. Hope this info helps!!!
Congratulations los0908, I got accepted to 2016 Gainesville as well! I'm really wanting to get a thread going to talk with others who are starting in Gainesville January 2016 since it's such a long time to wait. I want to keep my excitement up, ya know? I've finished all my pre-reqs and just have to take the GA history and constitution exams (got my undergrad in FL). Do you know of anyone else in that program?
Hey everyone!
i know this is an older thread but I'm taking the HESI at UNG on Wednesday and I need some last minute help! Is the math both multiple choice and fill in the blank, is there a calculator option, and any recommendations for studying for the A&P section...or study tips in general?!?
Thank you!!!
Hey Loveson.
I would suggest studying the HESI book that everyone has posted here. You'll need to put in more anatomy work but the rest was covered pretty well. Some of the math questions are fill in the blank and there is no calculator on the UNG version, although some campuses allow it. I think the hardest part of the test is mental fatigue. The content isn't super difficult. The nice thing about the HESI, as opposed to the TEAS, is that you can pick which order you do the sections in. I got a 91% overall but I think I could have done a little better with more Anatomy prep. Good luck!
