  1. Congratulations los0908, I got accepted to 2016 Gainesville as well! I'm really wanting to get a thread going to talk with others who are starting in Gainesville January 2016 since it's such a long time to wait. I want to keep my excitement up, ya know? I've finished all my pre-reqs and just have to take the GA history and constitution exams (got my undergrad in FL). Do you know of anyone else in that program?
  2. Thank you, sbutera. I just found out this morning that my school, UNG (University of North Georgia), has switched to the HESI A2 for admissions. They switched from the TEAS up until the end of this month and I'm supposed to take the TEAS in two days! I'm desperate to find out all I can about the HEAS A2 because I can take either one. Can you tell me truthfully though, are you a really good student? Sounds like you had no problem with the test so I'm thinking you already have an awesome GPA and are pretty smart. I'm 44 and taking my pre-reqs and I have a 3.0 but I can't seem to get better than a 77 on the TEAS with lots of studying. I'm thinking of not taking it, losing the money, and gearing up for the HESI A2. Thanks for any info and all the info above! Good Luck!

77 and a 2.75. Not such a surprise now that I see it before me compared to the others.

I checked my email and sadly did not get in. Congratulations to all who did, though! Exciting times! I was put on a wait list back in 2008 and got the call just weeks before first day of classes but could not quit my job. This year's email mentioned if a space comes up in August they would call people but was anyone told they were on the "wait list"? Just curious. I'm sad but I know I just have to try harder and try for 2015!

Yep, I got that email as well. Guess that ends all our confusion on it but it sure is going to be a long month...
  6. Just wanted to give my perspective as a patient's family member...I had the opportunity to be with my father while he was in Northsie Forsyth' s ICY and it seemed like a great environment. Everyone pitched in to help each out. We were there through the recent snow/ice storm and they were under Code White. Despite having slept at hotels or in empty rooms, they had good attitudes about the circumstances. I'm a pre-nursing student and have an interest in the ICU so it was educational for me to be staying there through the nights and days. I got a feel for the rhythm of the floor from shift to shift. I'd work there if I ever was fortunate enough for the chance. Best of luck in your decision!

Has anyone heard that all nursing classes will be moved to Cumming campus? Heard this today but not sure it's true. I originally heard nursing would be on the Dahlonega campus.

Thanks for all the updates, everyone! The suspense is killing me.

I applied for Fall 2014 and I'm attending there now as well. Gainesville campus. I was also looking for a thread...maybe you just got one started . Wondering when the letters are sent out.

I'd like to thank you both for your insights. It's been really helpful. I'm just applying for next year and I replied to a post of yours, Eflr, on an older thread before I realized how old it was. Anyway, I asked about the pre-reqs. What did you have to take before the program and did you take it at NGCSU? I also have a Bachelor's in Communications and I've only taken Algebra and Statistics for math and no sciences that would count. Congratulations to you both!
  11. Wow! Congratulations to you both for getting in to NGSCU. I just applied now for next fall and I had some questions for you: Did you have to take any courses prior to getting in? I already have a BA in Communications and I'm not sure if I need to take any science or math before the program (if I get in). If you did, what did you take? Did you take the courses there? I'm confused because it's an associate degree so you should be able to start right after HS and I'm certainly beyond that (class of '87 ). Any helpful insight you can give me would be great! Best of luck to you! That's awesome!
  12. I hope you get your answers because I am wondering the same things myself. I'll be waiting with you! :smiletea: Thanks for asking!
  13. I had to reply simply because my heart goes out to you. Making this decision is HUGE as you can read from all the other posts. I am a mother of a 1yo girl and my husband just finally started working a steady job after almost a year. Choosing a program is keeping me up at night and I am struggling to get a handle on what pre-reqs I need, etc. Your two choices are vastly different in pricing. Is the DNI an LPN program? For that money, it seems you should be an RN making a lot more than $15 hour when you are done. As an outsider, you seem to be so torn maybe because the El Centro makes more sense. Just a thought. But, I wanted you to know that I, too, am struggling and that you are not alone in that. This website is really helping me. I feel like this decision to pursue nursing is pulling at me for a reason and it is something that will I have to do even if it doesn't make sense financially or any other way! Follow what your heart tells you without keeping your mind up all night! I wish you luck with your decision and your journey! Hope to read of your pursuit in later posts!:)
