Honesty is NOT the best policy...

Published

This is just a rant....but you tell a prospective employer you were terminated to be HONEST and trustworthy to them....and then it BACKFIRES like microwaving a dead frozen rat for your pet snake......

I basically have to do a whole brand new career because no hospital will take me.... Will nursing EVER improve? All these characteristics about being empathetic, caring, devotion, commitment, helping other etc etc ALL BS. Because if your not that $paying$ customer, not patient, CUSTOMER, (who mind you has all the power to make or break your facility's reimbursement through HCAPS or your job security) you mean nothing.

Pfff....I am just real ticked off... thats all.............:banghead:

Aren't most hospitals or facilities for profit though? Hospitals, Nursing homes, etc..

I don't know much about nursing homes. The non profits must reinvest their profits back into the hospital. Most non profits are operating on a 2 % profit margin according to Beckers Hospital review. That's not very much really. Of course it has no effect on those CEO and CFO salaries.

The for profit hospitals pay dividends to their shareholders. Labor costs are half of the budget and so they choose to put lives in jeopardy and operate with unsafe nurse patient ratios. They are ruthless and unethical and very very connected politically.

These are the kind of places that before you get report you make sure that your patients are actually breathing.

If the facility is a Fortune 500 company such as Kindred, Tenet, HCA, CHS and kaiser that means that you will be sacrificing people for profits.

I will not be complicit in that kind of evil.
