Homework

How much homework is there is the CNA program? I guess every school is different, but just trying to get a feel for how much CNA related time I will need to put aside outside of school.

It really depends on your time management and memory. I studied extensively for my CNA/MA because of all of the things we were required to memorize.

Hint - Use flash cards for your acronyms

Good to know. I have no idea of what to expect. School is Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. My 4 year old is at preschool MWF. I am going to take that Monday time and study for sure and then I guess in the evenings on the other days.

Time management is going to be challenging trying to make sure family is taken care of while I am going to school. Thankfully it's only part time, but my family is going to go through withdrawls as they are used to me being 'on call' 24/7. They are very supportive though. The crock pot may become my best friend!

I love crock pots! But rarely is there a lot of take home homework (but then again I went through my certification 5 years ago) just a lot of memorizing

I just went through a CNA class in January. It wasn't that much homework but for my school we had to do 5 vital signs a day on various people. The CNA class though is very easy. 1st week classroom, 2nd week classroom, 3rd week clinicals.

Homework...not so much, more like practice. you will need to practice, practice, and practice more. The practice will be needed for your skills. The skills are step by step.

You will need to study for the tests. If you never been in healthcare, it will be a little challenging.

Take test at end of chapter first. Study/read what you don't know. Your text will be big, learn what you don't know first and read everything else as time allows.

I'm sure you'll do well.
