Am I asking too many questions?

I have been a field nurse in HH for 3 weeks now and I love it. However, I feel as if I am constantly bugging my case managers with questions, either about the patients or about policies, ect. My question is....how long is it going to take me before I don't feel as if I have to verify/question everything with an RN? I am a fairly quick study, have been a med-surge nurse for 9 years prior to starting with HH. I guess I am just still a little uneasy with this as it is still all so new to me. I have the patient care and charting down (really easy charting for LVNs) it's just the scheduling and office stuff that is getting to me. I finally got a GPS this weekend so that is already helping me. Any ideas? Tips? Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

If you need to ask them, then ask them. Better than to be wandering around in the dark. The time will come when you haven't made a single call to them in days, and you will realize that you have the hang of it.

I find even the RNs that have been with my agency for 30 years will still ask questions, nursing is constantly evolving, medicare laws are changing and agency policies change as well.

I totally agree with the others on this. Ask if you must, it's the way not to make mistakes that no one can fix!

Also it's the way that you learn because learning process is curious.

Love it when new nurses ask questions, shows they are listening and want to learn.

Crikey, if a nurse that was treating me hadn't asked questions and just did things on a hunhc, it would be pretty scary!
