If you are asking about working as a home health aide/cna type. Pros: better connection with your patients
Take care of them as you should
Don't have anyone behind you 24/7
Cons: the driving

Pros:
you get to really know your clients/families.
You have time to do what you should be doing.
You can pretty much make your own schedule.
You don't have to deal with "drama from co-workers".
Cons:
Unpredictable schedule. If client goes into hospital, you loose that shift/pay.
You don't always know what you're walking into with a new client/family. There are some strange and scarey ppl out there!
Lots of traveling, to clients homes and for errands for the client....
You don't have the support from other co-workers.
Either way, remember that you are in someone else's home. Never forget your boundries! It's easy to forget when you have worked with a family for a while but you MUST remember to keep it professional. Just when you think you are "really close" to the family, you find out that you aren't so much after all....
The type of home care services I am talking about has no facility, you just driving around town and visit and do your job for these people in their home. I figured is not something I would like to do. I did not go for the interview.
I had interview yesterday work for long term care facility, which I think its better. I got the job and I will start anytime soon.
Missingyou, mrsvickire2and systoly Thank you very much for the input guys. have a good weekend.
