HOLY MOLY

Today has been insane! I was hoping for a relaxed Friday but NOPE.

I was out of the building yesterday so I had stuff to catch up on this morning. First thing, I was stopped by a preK teacher to ask if I can pop into a quick parent meeting at 11:30 for a student who is returning to school after being in the hospital with Kawasaki. I said I could come in for a minute but it's right when I have preschool screenings. Two people today have walked into my office and started talking to me before realizing I was already on a phone call. Apparently pointing at the phone, which is next to my ear and speaking into it is not the universal sign for "Hey, I'm on the phone. Please wait"

Another person came into my office without knocking (door was closed) to grab some paperwork while I was going vision/hearing screenings.

Ug. Today can end anytime!

It never ceases to amaze me how staff can be so disrespectful without even realizing it. I have asked staff (and the principal has asked them too ) on many occasions to not cut through my office to get to the main office. It really makes me mad when I'm talking to a parent and they cut through us. A select few have cut down or quit but more often than not they now say "sorry I'm cutting through" as they do it every single day. Ok you aren't sorry then are you?! They do the same thing to me on the phone as you! If anyone would do that crap to them they'd have a fit but yet they act so put out when I call them out on it.

Can you lock your door from one direction? That would drive me crazy

At least I'm not alone. It has been crazy here as well.

As my mom used to say, "It's been a long week today."

Have a good weekend everyone.
