My son saw this and asked if it was real? I said it looks real to me. What do you think?

Have any of you nurses seen an abscess this bad? Worse?

Paco... how is that wound pulsating like that?

BTW super cool thanks

They were saying something about the pus going all the way up to the guy's lung, so I'd assume the abscess was pulsating because the pressure inside it was changing every time the dude breathed

Cool!

I didn't see anyone culturing the pus, though....

Just when you think you have seen it all!!!!! ...........WOW  All I can say is WOW......:uhoh3:

jeffsher.......I am POSITIVE a culture was done by asparation LONG before they resorted to emesis basins. Someone in the background said someone needs to start thinking about a chest tube........Really? duh.........well........you're a genius!

I wonder where this was.......Did you see the size of that thing? I know there was english being spoken and an apparatus on the left arm. BUt if that guy was in the hospital and developed an abcess that got that huge before somone got off their butt to treat it............ Our healthcare system is in worse shape that I thought!!!!! For an abcess to fluctuate that much with inspiration and expiratrion "exterior to the lung outside the rib cage...........that's tunneled straight through the lung!!! The patients prognisis isn't so promising.........I mean holy cow it was like something alien was parasitic on his back!!! WoW!

I hope the patient survived..............:crying2:

To me, it looked like it was under a tent outdoors. Maybe Haiti or another under-developed country? It did look like it was expanding and retracting with each breath. Poor guy.

That's what I thought! too. It is pulsating with inspiration and expiration........I am sure it goes to the lung. I'll bet he had a chest tube at one time.
