Hey, I am about to take the LPN Entrance Exam next week at HOlmes and was wondering if anyone has taken it before and if so what to expect! I don't have a clue what to study for or what type of Math or anything.. Please help!! Thanks!!
I don't think so. There might be more for Ridgeland, but not that many. I only know because I asked my instructor a few questions about the selection process the other day. I must say that she is not the one that told me about the reading comprehension thing though. She didn't get into how they decide who gets in, but just how the selection process works. I know all the instructors from all campuses sit down and select together. I bet you will get in. I don't know much about the instructors in Ridgeland, but I haven't heard anything bad. They went to a diabetic convention when we went and to the nursing convention in Philadelphia when we went, but I haven't actually met them. My advice during the waiting game is to pray alot and think positive. I had applied for RN twice and didn't get in. I thought that was the end of the world. When I applied for LPN I got in the first time and I also got in to Surgery Tech at the same time. When it rains it pours. lol. I decided that I didn't get into RN because the plan was for me to start with LPN first. I just didn't realize at the time what was best for me. Good thing God did. I think I would have been lost in RN and probably wouldn't have made it. Everything works out for a reason. Just keep that in mind.
I hope I do get in. I had originally planned to go to RN program, but i never made the ACT score in the math area i needed. I always made a 16 and needed a 17
but I do think this is best for me because we need the money sooner rather than later. i need a full time job now, but if I am in school I won't be able to have one. It will be tough, but so worth it in the end. I have worked so hard to not get in lol Just really skeptical!!! Thanks for all your support and encouragement. It's nice to have someone who is the program to give me some insight! :)
Kbass2 best of luck to you. My best friend takes the Compass tomorrow. She is not good at math either. She has a 3.25 and a 21 ACT. She applied last year and didn't do very well on Compass. Since then she has taken all of the pre reqs for ADN but didn't get in. They told her she had a composite score of 13 and needed a 16 to be considered. Anyway I wanted to say good luck and would you please post when you hear something?
I am at Ridgeland also. I just finished my 2nd semester of the ADN. We work events and do some things with the LPN students. I love the teachers there!

Oh ok, i thought it was 480 at my campus. I am going to Ridgeland campus. I sure hope it's less than that. :)
