Hey everyone! I wanted to start a thread to see who is enrolling in this course. I have purchased my books used on Amazon. Hopefully we can get through this course together!
It seemed way too easy. I thought this was supposed to be a horrible class! I was poised for an all nighter tonight and instead, I'm done. Suspicious, too. Lol! I followed all the instructions that were given, I could have added a lot more, but I didn't want to do too much, so I just did what I was asked to do.
Can anyone verify that we are not required to respond to the discussion posts of other posters? I saw it on the rubric, so I guess it is true. However, the instructions to the post say "you are encouraged to respond to the posts of your peers." Encourage being the key word, I suppose. OK, moving on to next week. :) I feel encouraged! Hope I feel this way when I get my grades next week. Have a great week everyone!
Yea, too easy...I won't but it until grades are back. Finished week 2 DB and started on objective. I am using the manual and corresponding info from the book to fill in each section. Each sentence starts with "patient denies" or "patient reports" and I am making sure to incorporate a COLDSPA and 24-hr diet recall in each assignment.
week 2 has more info but if all we are doing is hitting upon each topic mentioned than it isn't that hard...monotonous, yes, but hard, no.
So, my subjective was 16 pages long...I just got so bored typing it up.
Anyone have grades back? I haven't heard anything from my AC, not even a welcome email but rather a "use her email that we posted on the blackboard into announcement" and I haven't heard anything since...in fact, I emailed her on Thursday or Wednesday and haven't heard and the syllabus outlines the time frame in which assignments and email responses should be made. So annoying.
Yes. Week 2 objective is VERY long! Hoped to finish it today but will have to work it in somewhere this week. I read somewhere that COLDSPA needed to be in each assignment but isn't that considered subjective? Are other people putting it in their week 2 objective assignments? Thanks![/quote']I think I put one in (copied and pasted from my subjective) because I wasn't sure and wanted to be safe than sorry. I also make sure to put a 24-hr food recall in each assignment as people got docked for that in previous semesters. Reading previous postings on here from other semesters of this class was helpful!
Going through the eye assessment has been tedious. I don't feel like I have much idea of what I'm looking at, so it's like "uh... yeah that looks normal." I haven't started on the ear, but I have feeling that'll be about the same.
Some of this is interesting, but it's disappoint I'll be able to apply very little of what I'm doing to my practice. I work in ICU and this is just seems totally irrelevant. And I don't feel like there's been a good explanation in the book as to potential causes for abnormalities.
But this just puts me one class closer to being done!

This seemed too easy. I'm highly suspicious.
