holiday pay

How the heck can they not pay you holiday pay? That's awful!

I will have been a nurse 21 years this fall, and the job I have now, have been here 3 yrs, is the FIRST one nurse job I have ever had that paid holiday pay!!!

Looking FORWARD to working next Monday to collect that 12 hrs of holiday pay!!!

I'm just wondering how many of you do not get any additional pay when working your holiday. I've never the a hospital won't pay time until now!

Holiday pay? I forgot there are people that do pay their employees extra if they work the holiday. The hospital I work at does not pay extra, they will give it to you off and you can use that day as one of the holidays for the year. That's the only way to get paid, either you take it off or you use it w/n 6mths or you lose it.

Here if you work its 2 1/2 times if you work and 1 1/2 if home on your butt. Its unionized. Have had other jobs that typically were 1 1/2 if you worked. Another was 1 1/2 and could use PTO to get 2 1/2. A third gave you straight time and the holiday was figured in to your PTO accural.

Two dollars and hour. But time and a half on Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was just recently we got the Xmas time and a half. Which I appreciate since I work most Christmases.

We get $1.00/hr for working weekends. :)

Where are you located? sounds wonderful to get paid what you deserve. I'm of course in TX and about 2 hours from the border. No union here! and the pay scale is low also.
