I was unable to find practically anything about Hofstra’s FNP program for Fall 2020 I just received my acceptance letter and was looking for others that will be starting with me in September 2020. Congratulations!

Hey guys!

I applied for the FNP program in late December and had an interview scheduled for March 23 ... but got canceled due to the coronavirus. I then got an email to schedule myself for the CASPER exam in April. It took 2 weeks for my score to get finalized & sent, got my acceptance letter in less than a week!

I spoke with a few RN's (@ my hospital) who are currently in the program and working full time, they said it's tough but doable.

Do the nurses you know who are in the program start there second semester? Since acceptance I’ve been really overwhelmed with trying to find a part-time position fast so that it’s manageable. I work FT nights right now. @MSC.

My coworker is graduating as a psych NP from Hofstra at the end of the month. She worked FT nights throughout the program & that's what I'll be trying to do as well. She said it was tough but doable. Definitely don't want to downplay how hard it'll be but just hoping I'll be able to keep up.

What was the Casper exam like?

Basically just given scenarios & ask questions about what you'd do in different situations & why. Nothing clinical or nursing based. The website has a practice test. Not really something you can study for

Kinda late to this post, but Hi! I actually applied for the ACNP program and have my Casper exam on Sunday. Still accepting people for fall 2020 thank goodness! My apps got super delayed because of covid.

for the Casper- is it verbal or written responses?

I’m still waiting to hear back. I took my Casper last weekend, and I have heard 3-4 weeks after that they get back to you

I took my casper almost a month and half ago and still nothing. I've emailed them on any updates but nothing of as yet. I hope it comes soon! The suspense is killing me

How long after completing your application, they asked you to take casper exam?
