Hofstra FNP 2020

Hey, what was the application & interview process like? How long did it take from when you applied to hearing back about an acceptance?

Hey! The whole process took about 6 months for me but I applied VERY early. Interviewed in November 2019, accepted at the end of January 2020.
the interview was a series of questions that gauge personality & not really clinical based as I expected. The questions were a lot of “name a time when...” or “name a situation in which”. I know now during corona virus outbreak they are doing virtual interviews that are a series of short response Qs after a 5 min video scenario.

I have coworkers that are in Hofstra Program and as far as I know, it's very intense. You can't work full time as RN while going to school to Hofstra. They teach you in very detailed manner and there is no doubt that you will be fully prepared fro you board.

Oh OK. I took my casper test on the 2nd which is their virtual interview but it takes 3 weeks for results to come back. One of my coworkers is in their Psych NP program, works full time & is going to graduate in May so its possible. Hard, but possible.

How long after you applied did you get contacted for interview??

My coursework on nursingCAS was verified March 2nd, emailed about the virtual interview (casper test) March 17th, & took the test on the earliest date available which was April 2nd.

My last letter of Rec went through 4/5. Wondering if that was too late.

You might be fine since they're rolling admissions, I'm sure there are still others applying.
