Hofstra 2021 CRNA

Published

We're all hearing rumblings. Is Hofstra opening a 2021 Doctorate program application? Let's share some info!

I'm curious as to how competitive the first few cohorts will be because this is a new program. I feel that it being the only program on Long Island will result in high competition seeing as there are so few programs in the surrounding area. However, the price may turn some people off. Would anyone be willing to share stats?

People keep talking about the cost of this new program but if you look at other schools, this is the cheapest out of all of them in our area and Hofstra gives you 2 certifications and a doctoral degree. I shadowed a  CRNA last week and he told me the cost of Hofstra is worth the investment since CRNAS start at 200k/year. I sent in my application, cross my fingers, and just waiting.

I received an email with an invitation for the next step of the application review process which is to take the CASper exam. Did anyone else get this email?

For those who applied, did you pay a fee to nursingCAS and hofstra or just to nursingcas?

I just had to pay CAS fee. No separate Hofstra fee

I paid both. Once your nursing cas is accepted by the school they send you a link to pay the schools fee.

How long after you submitted your application did you receive this email?

I think like 2 weeks. But there is a link on nursingcas but you can only pay until you are verified.

Would anyone happen to know if this program is supported by Northwell Health's tuition assistance program?

Did anyone get further instructions for the interview on Thursday?
