I have to study all of the tissue types for my upcoming A&P exam. My book doesn't have adequate information on specific tissue types, and so I was wondering if there was a website with more elaborate detail of tissue/cell types?? My professor listed a couple on our website, but it doesn't list the one's I REALLY need. I have attended EVERY single class....but 1! The most important one!! Death has an unexpected way of creeping up on you at the most inconvenient of times.

Any help, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Have a great weekend!

Here ya go:

Here are some websites with good slide images. I try to only look at the 400X and lower-magnification ones, since our lab won't have any electron microscope slides!

http://www.meddean.luc.edu/LUMEN/Med.../h_frame1.html

http://www.kumc.edu/instruction/medi...el/epithel.htm

http://www.dccc.edu/departments/biol...ge/topmenu.htm

My favorite:

http://www.histology-world.com/audioslides/audio.htm

On that website, you can click on a slide and then hear someone explain how you know that it's simple columnar epithelia, transitional epithelia, etc. So be sure your sound is on when you visit that site. I could kiss that woman for designing that site!

Another site at the University of Delaware, with Powerpoint lecture slides:

http://www.udel.edu/biology/Wags/his.../histopage.htm

Here's a cool site with images that aren't stained, in case your prof goes with black & white images:

http://www.visualhistology.com/Visual_Histology_Atlas/VHA_Chpt2_Epithelia.html

If you have time to look around, the Pathology Guy's site has some great images, and explanations for telling tissues from one another:

Hope this helps!

(You can find lots more sites by typing Histology Slides into the Google Search Box.)
