I thought I would start a thread for those of us applying to HCC's Spring 2013 nursing program. I am a Veterinary Technician/stay at home mom. I'm gathering everything for my application and hoping to drop it off at HCC soon. The deadline isn't until 6/1 but they recommend turning it in at least 30 days in advance. I'm a current HCC student. I was planning on applying for Fall this year, but am now expecting a little girl to arrive in July so spring it is! My pre-req GPA is 3.86 (all A's and 1 B), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program for DM evening classes. Good luck to all!
Well, I gave them first transcript in January and as of now it didn't show up anywhere. So I think you should really submit another one with the packet, before you run out of time.

Sistermargo: Yeah I think I will. When you say "Didn't show up anywhere" does that mean you have no transcripts/records from your other schools in Hawknet/Webadvisor also even though you submitted them in January of all things?
Everyone: Can you confirm that you sent transcripts from other schools (if applicable to you) to:

Exactly. I personally delivered my transcript to admissions office in January, so I know they have it. But no grades showed in Hawknet as of now, that's why I submitted one more copy with the nursing application packet just to be on a safe site. After they got the packet, I got e-mail saying that my transcript will be evaluated after June 1 and it will take 6-8 weeks for them to post my grades on HAWKnet. God knows what happened to that first one from January.

Ah well I appreciate that part of your story. That helps clarify things a little. I just submitted a request to have UCF send my transcript to HCC this afternoon which they said they'd do the next business day so tomorrow morning when they open I'm gonna have them change the address to send to me personally instead so I can forward to HCC.

How long does it take for application to appear as "received" on the webadvisor under documents? i turned my application in last Thursday with the $53 check attached.

I turned mine in last month. It took a couple of days to show up on Webadvisor. Like sistermargo said, I'm sure it'll take longer this close to the deadline.
Hello everyone, Its my first time here. I apllied for DM day Spring 2013. Regarding the transcripts from other schools, they told me they are going to evaluate it after June1 and it takes 6-8 weeks to post grades. It will be marked as "needed asap" in the document section of HAWKnet untill then. Hope that helped.

So I thought of a possible reason this morning why some of my transcripts are missing with HCC... I had a couple of them sent Electronically... to the address on the Nursing app, which is a PO Box. Something tells me that might not work and might cause them to go missing? lol.
But no matter, I submitted paper requests to all my schools today to have them come to me which I will forward to HCC once they all arrive. Can't wait to submit it, I want to get the ball rolling! :)
