Hillsborough Community College Spring 2016 Applicants

Hi everyone!

I know it's a little early, but is anyone out there applying to HCC's Nursing program starting Spring 2016? I am, and I'm dying for this semester to be over so I can submit my app! Just wanted to start the discussion since no one else has!

Just checked My Documents and everything has been posted as received. My last name begins with W so they are almost done with the alphabet so hopefully we know something soon.

Soooo in my neverending quest for information and answers I went over to the Spring 2015 thread for HCC. They started getting their acceptance letters during the first week of Sept. (9/6) with the low end of GPA acceptance of 3.43 from the last posts that I read (I had to stop, it was making me crazy) I guess we'll be hearing something after Labor Day. (insert lots of curses here) I'm going to chill out and stop the maniacal and incessant checking of the hcc website (no I'm not) and enjoy the end of the summer/ beginning of the semester. I had to make myself stop checking the HCC website multiple times per day. While I am at work I get excited every time I get a notification that someone has posted on this site, because I think today might be the day that people have started getting their acceptance letters. This has been the longest summer ever.

I was curious and wanted to know if anyone had e-mailed the Health Sciences department to see if they would say anything about when they would be sending out the letters. I noticed on every other semester it seemed like somebody had either e-mailed or called and got a rough estimate for when the letters would be sent.

I went to admissions and the person there said that they were still working on our applications. She then said the person that was doing them wasn't there but she asked someone and they told her to tell me to check back with them at the end of September and that we probably wouldn't hear anything until October or November. That doesn't seem right to me based on past semesters experiences and the amount of things to do before school even starts. I just don't know who we would email to find out though.

That's so annoying :( It's almost been 12 weeks already. I find that hard to believe because of orientation and clinical assignments and all of that. That's cutting it so close.

Seriously?!? The little flyers they had for nursing applicants sitting right outside the Health Sci offices said 12-15 weeks from app deadline...😖

Maybe that was just some random person in admissions..no thread I've seen has anyone waited into October for their letters.
