Hillsborough Community College Spring 2016 Applicants

Hi everyone!

I know it's a little early, but is anyone out there applying to HCC's Nursing program starting Spring 2016? I am, and I'm dying for this semester to be over so I can submit my app! Just wanted to start the discussion since no one else has!

I got a call from the health sciences admissions dept. She was asking about a transcript that wasn't rec'd. That lit a fire under my posterior and I was on the phone with eight different people today getting it done. I was so frazzled and amazed that she called me that I didn't even remember to ask. This will carry over into the second week of Sept.

I detest trying to get anything done over the phone when it comes to HCC...

That's so annoying :( It's almost been 12 weeks already. I find that hard to believe because of orientation and clinical assignments and all of that. That's cutting it so close.

Yes that is what I was thinking also. When I said oh wow that is crazy I thought it would be sooner than that is when she told me that the person that was working on it wasn't there. I just don't know who to e-mail because looking at the nursing stuff on HCC website I see who certain people are but I also don't want to overstep my bounds and e-mail someone I shouldn't.

Maybe that was just some random person in admissions..no thread I've seen has anyone waited into October for their letters.

Oh I know I was just kidding as well. Kind of like don't shoot the messenger. I like to have a good time and joke around. If we let everything get to us the stress would do us in and we haven't even started classes yet lol.

Ok it was just hard to tell in text lol. I agree, I'm constantly laughing and joking around as a way to cope with stressful times! And just in general lol

Ok, so I forgot I had a business card for the Health Sciences Adviser in my wallet. I e-mailed her tonight so maybe she will tell me something or at least give me the name of someone else to e-mail. I found in one of the other posts that the last six spring classes all received their letters in September. One of them I think 4 or 5 years ago did not get them until the end of September but it was September none the less. I will let everyone know what the adviser tells me if she e-mails me back.

Ok everyone so I got a response to my e-mail and this is it as follows.

Just to clarify: Did you apply at the June 1st, 2015 deadline for the coming Spring 2016 semester? If so, the Health Science Admissions Department is in the process of reviewing applications now. As an advisor, we are not given a specific date for which admissions decisions will be made; However, you will likely be notified via postal service mail, before the end of October. For more information regarding this matter, please contact the Admissions Department at: [email protected].

She also attached the little flyer to the e-mail that had the 12 to 15 week thing on it. I am still hoping to get it in September because of the 12-15 week statement, but I said I would tell you guys what they said. I don't know if any of you guys want to try and e-mail that one that she attached but I think I am going to just wait, since every time I talk to someone or anything I get more depressed. Haha.
