Hillsborough Community College Spring 2016 Applicants

I already have a Bachelors degree so my gen Ed classes are all already done. I thought about taking statistics in the fall because I heard you need it for your BSN but I don't qualify for financial aid anymore. So I'm just taking the semester off and hoping I will start nursing in the spring.

My documents don't show any changes either. I am enrolled in English Comp II and Human Nutrition for the fall semester. That would be awesome if we found out within 7 weeks also. I am surprised that more people have not commented on this thread. I wonder if that is an indication of how many people have applied?

My AA Degree satisfies USF's FKL requirements, which are part of their RN to BSN program. They still require Human Nutrition, Life Cycle, Statistics, English composition II and your choice of Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Biochemistry. You also have to have 8 credit hours of a foreign language. Lord, I got tired just typing all of that! I'm trying to finish all the classes I can before the program starts in the Spring ( I've decided to think positive thoughts that I'll be accepted into the program ). That way I'll only have to take the 30 credit hours of core nursing courses to finish up my BSN. Even with a full load of classes in the Fall, I still have to take Statistics during the summer which I'm not looking forward to!I don't believe many people know about Allnursing threads in general. There always seems to be a small group of students conversing. I've always heard that less people sign up for the spring than the fall semester. I guess more people finish up with their prerequisites to enter into the fall program. It would be so nice to find out in 7 weeks, then we would all know for sure what road we're taking.

Sounds fun, my girls are 7, 5 and 3 so I need my husband there for back up! I never know what my 3 year old will do. She walks her own path! (:

My girls are 8 and 4. I am worried about the time commitment once nursing school starts and how it will impact the amount of time that I have to spend with the girls and my husband. I will be working full time and going to school. I tell myself that the sacrifice will pay off in the long run. I just don't want them to feel neglected.

My aunt did it with 3 little ones. She said it was REALLY hard but worth it in the end. I guess I'm lucky in the sense that I'm not married and I don't have kids but I think it's challenging either way. But thinking about your kids will be a great motivating factor when you have hard days. :)

I understand how you feel. Last semester I took Anatomy and my girls did not like me studying so much. I started to study after they went to bed, or I went to class early. I've been preparing them for the Fall since I'll be taking a full load then. Our girls may not understand now, but they'll be proud of us when they're older. We're teaching them that it's never to late to educate and improve yourself no matter the challenges. This is just a small sacrifice we have to make now for a better future for ourselves and and our families. It will be hard, but it won't be permanent. Before you know it you'll be working three-12 hour shifts and then you'll have four whole days to devote to your family. :)

So I thought no one had been talking on here, because allnurses isn't giving me an email updates to the convo anymore..lol. Looks like I've been missing a lot. This wait is really brutal. I would just at least like to see that they're reviewing our apps..I check My Documents weekly, but still nothing.
