Hillsborough Community College RN program fall 2013

U.S.A. Florida

Hello,

I plan to attend to HCC's 2013 fall evening nursing program (applying in Jan). I am curious to see what people people's GPA is going in. I hear spring's is lower than fall's.

Thanks!

I e-mailed the Health Sciences Dept. Friday. The response was that they were reviewing the applications and to check My Documents on Hawknet to track the status of mine. (mine have been marked received since December, shortly after I turned in my app). It also said to allow 8-12 weeks from January 15th. Tomorrow will be 9 weeks, so its getting close. But, I feel like the note was a generic one that may be sent in response to the e-mails they receive. I have a girl in one of my classes that works in the HCC Admin. office...she used to work in the Health Sciences Dept. Anyway, she said there is a new person in charge of this process, so it may be the full 12 weeks, but she is going to check on it, and let me know. I will see her again on Wednesday, so check back...I will post whether she is able to find out anything or not.

So funny, I haven't thought much about it until about a week ago, and now I am obsessed...lol.

I feel now that school is back in progress from springbreak its just a matter of days to a week hopefully!!! Ahhhh:)

Think of it this way, we will probably know by the end of next week! I'm kind of stressing, but keeping myself distracted. I'm probably going to start stalking the mailbox next week! Stressful week it will be! I will be doing my phlebotomy clinicals all that week!

Any suggestions on which place is best to take a phlebotomy course?

Applied with a 3.71, curious how many other guys are among those posting here? I've been checking the mailbox everyday, even though I've been told a 3.7 will get in i'm terrified of being denied arggh

I took the Phlebotomy course at Pasco Hernando Community College. It was a little expensive, but included everything you needed, including the certification exam. The phlebotomy lectures were only two months long and we get to complete 60 hours of clinicals. Phlebotomy has a high turnover rate, so it's not supposed to be hard to find a job! I'm hoping that's the truth!

Well, my friend was not able to find anything out yet...still waiting on a call back. She said they are probably slammed...they handle the apps for all the Health Sciences programs, so we are not all they have on their plate. Patience...Patience...Patience. UGH ;)

Hello everyone!!! I just want to let you all know that I got my admittance letter for the LPN-RN transition program starting this summer (yaayyyy!!). I'm guessing that means you all will be getting your letter soon for Fall start! GOOOOOOOD LUCK!!!! :nurse:

Thanks for the update Nurse Rae and Congrats to you :)

CONGRATS! Is the transition program tough to get into? I may go that route if things don't work out. :)

Does anybody know what kind of envelope to expect if we get accepted??? Big bulky one or single letter type?!?!?!
