Hello,
I know some of us were discouraged to find out that we didnt get in for Fall. The cut off was the highest theyve ever seen and some were shocked to find out their true pre-req GPA. We have another chance to accomplish our dream of becoming an RN and I am hopeful we will all get in for Spring. Historically it is an easier semester to get into, last GPA cutoff for 2019 Spring was a 3.381 so there is hope. If you dont mind posting GPA and TEAS and when youve submitted the app. Round 2, lets go!
Pre-req GPA- 3.514
TEAS-67
Havnt submitted just yet, but i will be soon!

Ahh, well, that makes sense, but kind of sucks. Finger's crossed that my GPA is good enough. I've seen that there are some discrepancies in how HCC is calculating GPA. Does anyone know how that's happening? I have a previous BS degree; are they using all of those credits? Or just the pre-req credits?
You are correct HCC doesn't look at your actual TEAS score. Acceptance is based strictly off GPA.
I would recommend using a GPA calculator to ensure you are calculating your GPA accurately. Previous college degree's does not put you at an advantage over someone who doesn't have a college degree. Also, HCC uses first attempts to calculate your GPA. Unfortunately, many of us in the past didn't take this into consideration.
@Tiese Scott I definitely don't think it's going to give me an advantage; I apologize if it came across that way. I just don't know if the school is going to use all of my previous credits in calculating my GPA as is show on WebAdvisor or if they will only be using the grades I earned with my pre-req courses.
Your message didn't come off that way ? I know some schools take into consideration if you have a previous degree. As far as GPA it's based strictly on our prerequisite courses. Wishing you the best!
@Tiese Scott mine either! Some people said there’s had been, so maybe they’re doing them in batches?
Are your Nursing Prerequsites showing as received now? Mines are still showing as Not Received.
