Hillsborough Community College-Fall 2014

Published

Hello everyone,

So my dream since I can remember has been to become a nurse; however, it seems as if it will never happen. I recently finished my pre-requisite courses to apply to the fall semester of the HCC nursing program. While I did not get any C's I made mostly B's :blink:earning A's in two classes and one lab. I realize this is not good enough since it puts my GPA at around a 3.38. Since I did not fail any of my classes, I don't believe I will be able to retake them. Is there any possible way to retake them? Or any way to increase my GPA since they mainly look at the pre-requisite courses? If not, what other options do I have for becoming a nurse? If anyone is out there who could offer any help it would be greatly appreciated. I will submit my application regardless but I don't have any high hopes of getting accepted, if there is anyway to increase my chances I would be so grateful to find out!

Thanks so much ! It will be hard... Dont be discouraged @Izzy at this point i will most certainly not get it either but there is always other option :)

IN WITH A 3.81!!!!!! :DDDDD

Congrats!! Now I can't wait to get home and check my mailbox! ?

I received my acceptance letter today.

Congrats ! :D I knew you'd do it !

Unfortunately I didn't apply anywhere else. I will reapply in Spring for HCC, SPC, and PHCC. Was looking at schools like Galen or UMA, but they all get terrible reviews, are not accredited, and are extremely expensive.

I'm kind of bummed I can not just retake a couple of my B classes and try for an A. It would have been better if I'd just failed them almost. :(

Congratulations to those who did get accepted :)

Look at southeastern college in Tampa area. They seem to be really good.

I agree 100%, I feel the same way, however; I went to Galen recently and they became fully accredited just last year and will accept all our our HCC prerequisites which save some time of the first "semester" (and some money). The admissions advisor was very nice to me, and I am very much considering it as an option at this point.

Congratulations!! What was your GPA?

I received my acceptance letter as well! GPA 3.8 .... It was a long way fit me , but well worth now. Congratulations to everyone accepted and for those who didn't - keep you hopes up and keep trying.
