Hillsborough Community College Fall 2012

ok, so I stalk the mail person everyday and get my hopes up that there may be a letter in the mail stating that my status has changed from alternate position to accepted and then NO LETTER!! When I stop getting my hopes up it will happen. I am sure the other alternates are probably doing the same thing!! :) As soon as I hear anything... you all will be one of the first people to know! Hopefully everybody will be doing the same. I feel like I have been waiting FOREVER!!

Yep, you're not alone...I do the exact same thing, lol. I'm hoping we find out before June 1st. My 'Plan B' is to apply for spring 2013...and the deadline is June 1. So it'd be nice to have a change in status before then so I don't have to send off another application with a $53 check. :)

So I called MF in admissions again today and asked her about the appeal letters that we were supposed to get last week. She said she was out sick last week, that's why she didn't send them. She assured me that she will be sending them this Tuesday and that everyone should get a letter by the end of the week, probably on Friday or Saturday at the latest. We all have been waiting for months(literally) and I'm sure everybody's patience has stretched to its limit. Some more patience dear future colleagues...

Good luck to the appealers and alternates... I want to meet all of you at orientation!!

I ordered that book the np2 gal suggested from amazon. Used it was like $12. I had a credit in there so I was happy with that!

So good to know!! Thank you so much for sharing with us. We don't have time for people to be sick!! :) Just kidding. I do not even want to think about going through this process again...so I am sooo hoping to get in like the other alternates.

I am going to be screaming from the roof tops when I get in!! i cant wait to share this celebration with you guys. And yes, if I get in we have to meet up for orientation!!

I ordered a few books too! They should be here tomorrow. I ordered the Potter/Perry book (since that one requires so much reading...I'm definitely spending my summer getting that out of the way, lol), clinical calculations, and a Kaplan NCLEX review so I can start looking at how the questions are set up. YAY! I know I'm getting so ahead of myself but I figured if I get in for fall or spring, I'm still going to need the information. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed, Brandee! Although...I am going to see you in our CPR class, so maybe I'll see you twice in June! :)

Oh, they so are! After English, of course. I have a whole summer of nothing to do but sit at the beach and study...or your pool!! Lol

I started reading from the textbook Nursing Fundamentals too! Seventh edition potter/perry, I borrowed it from my friend who graduated from hcc nursing program last year.

All this waiting around is getting me more and more anxious everyday!

Hi all-

I was accepted into the program for this fall at Dale Mabry. I just wanted to double-check with someone already in the program that they let you choose which day your clinicals are held? I really need to know this ASAP to figure out my work schedule while I'm in school. Do most people get their first choice of day? One of the offices I work in is only open certain days of the week so I am trying to coordinate having classes/clinical on the other days if possible.

Well ladies and gents, make sure you're stalking the mail person!! I wasn't even expecting to get any kind of letter because I wasn't appealing (assumed appeals would be sent out, then in a week or so they'd move to alternates...boy, was I wrong!) but I just checked the mail a few minutes ago and well, I'm so stinkin' excited to say that I was accepted for the fall! Good luck to everyone else that's patiently waiting. It's all worth it!!! :)

Ah! I can't wait to get home and check the mail! I hope I'm high enough on the alternate list to get accepted :/
