Yup, I had functional endoscopic sinus surgery today. I can say it was soooo painful waking up. I felt as if I got hit in the face by a mack truck!! The reason for this thread is to acknowledge all you pacu, or, and crna nurses out there. I had the best nurses around. They made me feel so good even tho I was shaking in my boots most of the whole time... I told them I was in nursing school and eventually my goal is to become an icu and or nurse. My longggg term goal is to be a crna. They were so nice and took their time talking to me about school and made me feel at ease. They held my hand on the way down to the or and during my induction with their powerful meds to send me off to lala land. They actually used propofol on me so I guess mgh is not going through a shortage.... well I woke up in so much pain even dilaudid couldn't take all the pain away. But... right now I seem okay. The vics are helping a bit. Just wanted to share my Friday the 13th with you all. Again thanks for the wonderful nurses I had today, and to u all that do ur jobs well, esp when we as professionals find ourselves as the patient! :) god bless

glad it worked out for you.

and am happy to hear of your positive experience w/nsg.

it is those type nurses, who inspire others to become nurses.:balloons:

and mgh doesn't have a shortage of anything!

(you're referring to mass gen'l hosp, right?)

best of everything to you.

Glad you had a good experience =)

When I worked in OR, we did those as Caldwell-Luc's. Ugh. Be glad you missed THAT experience!

Take your pain meds, breathe freely and be well :D
