The nursing diploma from the philippines isn't useful anywhere outside the phillipines. You must qualify to take the NCLEX licensing exam in the US if you plan to work in the US. To do this, you complete the application process, get permission to take the exam, and once you have passed the exam, you receive a license that allows you to work as a nurse in the US.

I think you should go to the International Student Board on this website to find the best information available to you. I know that there are processes you (as a foreign applicant) must complete to be allowed to take the US exam, but I'm not fully familiar with them. However, there are people on this forum who are!

Best of luck to you.

Welcome, flygirl! I moved your thread to the International Forum for more responses.

hi and welcome to the site

All depends on which country you want to live to what requirements are. If you want to work in the US then check out the thread titled Priimer to working in the US

What type of program are you actually doing, or considering completing? In the Philippines, they only have the BSN, they do not offer the Diploma in Nursing there. You are starting to see some two year programs but they are not recognized in Canada or the US. Makes no sense to do one of those.

You need the BSN to work over here if you train in the Philippines, and most other countries as well.

Where ever you want to study will be expensive. Finding a job in Europe may be hard as generally the EU country has to employ someone from their own country then EU before rest of the world. USA if working you may get some assistance with study from your employer but will vary.

And you are still not answering my question....what type of nursing and program are you actually doing in the Philippines as they do not offer diploma programs there, only the BSN is even accepted for licensure in your country. And Toronto is in Ontario and they require the full four year degree, same as the US does.

You need to be specific if you wish our help, because what you state that you are doing there just does not exist.
