I am SO DEPRESSED!! I feel like my chances of getting in to ANY school is going to be nearly impossible. I have heard it is all so competitive. I live in Miami and my only options are FIU, MDC, Nova or UM.
I last year i Failed my chem1033 lecture and Failed my Chem1033 Lab. That's 2 F's in my transcripts for my sciences. Although i am retakng them right now, and So far Im passing the lab with an A and my lecture with a B.....I just don;t know if it's too late.
FIU says NO REPEATS!!! So that's out
MDC says not more than 3 repeats, but they have a MASSIVE number of applicants. and i read on another thread that there was an MDC applicant with a 3.9 who didn't get accepted!!! ***!!!!! UM....I haven't really even looked into it.
and that leaves NOVA, idk i have heard mixed comments about the acceptance policies...I AM SO DEPRESSED IM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEMESTER AND IM SO BUMMED I CANT EVEN STUDY ALL I CAN DO IS READ BLOGS ABOUT IT.....HEEELLPPPPP!!!!!!!

Have you considered community colleges? You can go ASN 2 BSN. 3 years total and it would give you more options of schools to apply to. Just work hard and do what you need to do to accomplish your goals.
yea...MDC is a community College, its my only option so far, but they are so inexpensive that EVERYONE is applying. They are very tough to get into. I heard they have Over 600 applicants and only accept 150, so imagine! Other than that i guess I'm screwed. Maybe LPN first will help my chances of getting in?

Can you spice up your application with some volunteer or CNA work? Many hospitals have volunteers in many departments. Use initiative/time commitment (volunteer work) or work experience in the healthcare field to make up for your lower GPA.

My advice is to just stick with it....in any area of nursing you can get into. If you can get into an associates program do that but if you cant do an LPN program and then do a bridge to ASN then a bridge to BSN. If nursing is what you truly want to do then you will find a way even if it takes longer. I know how frustrating it is but you have time and all along the way you will be building experience and learning to fight for what you want. That is how I am, but if nursing is something you think you can live without then maybe try switching to something totally different. Good luck!!!

First take a deep breath... after you have calmed yourself I recommend you take the time to decide if you think nursing is the best career choice and make sure you want it. If you are this freaked about and only doing prerequisites nursing school is really going to make you lose it girl. I can relate about feeling confused if i should even take my chances and get rejected from MSU since the average accepted GPA was 3.87! Idk how the other schools you applied to weight grades but I know they are all different. The important thing is that if you want it go for it and if you get rejected the first time try again! My grades were not as good as I thought they should have been and I made it in. Plus as scary as it is classes and life gets stressful and crazy once you get in so you gotta get it together now before you take that leap. I have also repeated classes and done crappy and cried a lot...But I still love it and work harder then I ever thought I could to be successful. So decide what you want and think you will enjoy and be good at! don't ask others to decide for you it's only makes it more confusing trust me, I had professors telling me to take a semester off or consider other options...but now I'm more determined to succeed. So try and figure out how to shake off your blues and focus on what you want. It will be a challenge but it will be worth it. I know its not a clear cut answer to your question but I hope some encouragement helps!
