?? HH hiring process and shady company?

Published

Hi

I responded to an internet posting about pediatric home health and filled out application. I received follow up e-mails. When I telephoned I spoke to a different clerk, who made a appointment for me for interview. The day of the interview , two hours before a 3rd clerk calls me about my application. I can tell she has never seen it because she thinks I am a CNA . I am a RN who never had CNA license. So I go on the interview. I am interviewed by a clerk. She tells me she can't really tell me anything but does mention a rate of pay for orientation that is done in home is only paid at $10/hr and orientation at office is unpaid. I can't get an answer whether meeting the family is paid because Im not hired yet. I have a lot of peds experience but I am concerned about using a hoyer lift in the home. She says they will check my application and references and get back to me.

6 days later a 4th clerk calls be to confirm if I am coming to orientation tomorrow? What am I hired . I get the person who interviewed me on the phone and she says " don't you remember it is a 2 part interview with skills check off" oh okay but won't tell me who with or exactly what because I am not hired yet. And I find out that 7 other people are being checked off in two hours and it includes their charting. I ended up telling them no. I want to get a job but it seemed to strange. Can someone give any input?

Seems really disorganized/lack of communication. If it's already this way and you haven't been hired, I am not sure I would want to work there if I was in your shoes.

Just another example of disorganization and lack of communication. I would be more concerned that the Director of Patient Care Services did not interview, or at least give the time of day to, an RN looking for work, but I would not necessarily write off this employer yet. However, you should be warned that this run-around can be expected when dealing with these people on a day to day basis. Whatever your future with this office, I would continue to look for a better organized employer, because your time with these people may be short-lived.

I stopped reading at doesn't pay for orientation. Who doesn't pay for orientation?

Specializes in PACU.

Yikes. So many red flags...
