HFCC Winter 2017

Hey everyone. I just applied to the HFCC program for Winter 2017 and thought I would start a thread to see if anyone else will be applying too. I am pretty nervous and would like to get some insight as to how many points you had when you got accepted.

No you have every right to he angry!! Im shocked right now too! It seems as if things keep rolling in one after the other and EVERYTHING is over $100!! Where are we suppoed to get the money if we dont work? I have borrowed money from friends until I get the loan check ☹️ I didnt want to use loans but there are so many things that keep popping up. Im guessing maybe they were waiting until the Jan 9 orientation to tell us. í ½í¸‘

Right!! And remember They made us sign a paper that said They didn't want us to work at all!!! They told us about a lot of that stuff at the first orientataion but they were surprisingly deceptive at the same time. They deliberately told us the book package was optional when it was in fact madatory, the kit is not mentioned ANYWHERE in the emails or the handbook.

I have friends who are a few semesters behind me waiting to finish prereqs to apply to the program and their situations are much different than mine, they don't have support systems like a lot of us are blessed to have. I feel like they need to start saving NOW!

The educational system is so predatory! They know that people have dreams and goals, they make it so that you have to get a formal eduation to achieve those goals and then they make it almost impossible to do without becoming a debt slave if you aren't wealthy. I'm livid.

So the package is in fact mandatory??

And yes!! I used to always wonder why some people dont get their education and now that Im in college I am seeing all of the expenses! I hope everyone figures out a way to pay for everything ☹️

I dont know how Im going to be able to read chapters and study off of a computer screení ½í¸• Its harder for me.

You will have physical books. But they also provide online versions. I saw the package at the school today. There are about 5 books, there are probably more items in the online portion of the package

So this package isnt hust online only?? It includes physical books?

Yes. It's physical books plus online programs

Off topic, but does anyone know when we are getting our clinical placements? I know we are at the nursing school for the 1st like 6-7 weeks, but after that.

I read on the Green registration form that we should be getting our clinical placements on ACEMAPP by the third week of december. So maybe sometime later this week.
