Hfcc 221 Final!

How do you all feel about the final? I passed the final and the course with a coveted B but I and many of my classmates in section 3 felt that it was a brutally hard exam. I am scared to see how many students won't be there this week when 222 starts! And what is the rational behind not letting us review it? I think there would be alot more contested questions and they don't want to deal with that! And 2 lousy IA's! We are all quite bitter about it and feel that it did not reflect what we learned! What say you?

Well for some reason...I did extremely well on the final...I thought I was about to fail the class (I know 81% is not failing but to close for me!) And I managed to get 93 out of 98 points! So I got my B. How I did so well I had no idea at all! I marked 16 questions that I was defiantly not sure of...then there were also a few that I was a little more sure of so I didn't make a mark. (I just make a little mark on the front of my test so I have an idea how bad I may have done ha) Anyways as ridiculous as it was I am happy with my grade!

Don't get me started!!!!!!! :angryfire:angryfire:angryfire I absolutely agree with you. I felt they went out of their way to make it extremely difficult with over complicating the questions and adding numerous tricks to throw you off. Some questions came out of nowhere!!! I normally don't complain about the exams but I thought it was flawed and a way to weed more people out. I passed with a B too but was not happy with way it was written. It took me the entire time to complete the test because I was so thrown off.

I don't even want to know how many are left after that 'thing' on Monday.

I talked to one of my teachers and the 2 thrown out were of course, select all that apply - the heart failure S/S and BNP. But we can't review it so when it comes to the NCLEX, we'll get it wrong on that too!:banghead: I believe each section lost at least 5 students. I'm glad it was only a small amount cuz like 1/3 of my section was failing and they must have had a better bearing on that 'thing' than I! My teacher also said that 221 is what NCLEX is like so if you passed, then you should be more than able to get your license. I don't think 222 is going to be much different, I am going to study just as much. Only 2 more finals ladies - Peds and OB are combined into one final! I can't wait until April! I need a life! :bugeyes:

According to my teachers, JCL/LGS, section 3, we were doing the best before the exam and we had a quite a few who were failing or on the verge. SB/KS's section was doing the worst and DD/JG were following them. My friend said JG was apologizing to her students as they handed in their exams! I went to the review on Sat hoping it would make a huge difference but it seemed as though barely any of what DD went over was on it. I usually only have to guess on like 5 or 8 but I had like 25 circled and went back to! I was one of the last done as well! I didn't realize that time was up, I was so focused. My study buddy got a 94 and a well deserved A in the class so I don't know why I did so poor. I am going to nail it the next 8 weeks. I want a frickin A on my transcript! These B's are killing my GPA!!!

Oh well, it's done and we have to move forward and focus for these last 8 wks of Med/Surg! UGH!!! I am just grateful to have made it this far, this program is a killer! There are only 3 of us remaining from my first clinical group of 9!:crying2:

I graduated in 2004

they have been screwing nursing students for ages

but it is a doable program.:yeah:

Wow only 3 lasted? That's got it to sad. I just found out I have SB for clinical. Oh yea lucky me! I can't wait! :no: I thought the final review was helpful until I had to take the final. Some of the stuff was in there but I was still stunned by all of the off the wall questions. I found it funny that every client on that exam had a million things wrong with them - I'm surprised they were still alive.

Did you hear anything about section 4?

Wow...that's not a lot left. I'm not for sure how many are left from my 1st group. I know one failed 155. As of this final all were there except one I wasn't sure about (she always took her test in a different room) As far as everyone passing I don't know since they are all in 02, 03 or 04 and I had my class today.

Wow I had heard SB class was doing the best on the exams not the worst. And I am in JG while I have no idea what place we were in there were some of us who were doing reallllly good (not me) and some who were doing really bad (again not me but as I said before I was closer to the edge than I ever had been) Yeah I showed up on Saturday as well as Justanillusion too. It kinda helped as in it helped me study a lot ha. (it got me in the mood ha) I studied all day Sunday. I looked over thoughs notes but also over the notes which I noticed a lot of the answers on my notes that were highlighted were from previouse questions that I had got wrong on other tests....she always tells us things to pay attention to why couldn't I have done that previously! Mostly I studdied from Sanders though!

This semester I hope/heard is supposed to be better! Hopefully I would like an A as well but we will see :-p Thankfully I will have a whole week off now though...I love that I don't have to go Thursday! Amybeth you have to...or did you sign up for the flu clinic? I know justanillusion did I go the 1st week we start back...I got signed up for it (I don't care that I did but I didn't sign up for it either ha)

I know poor justanillusion I had to be the bearer of your bad news. I'm quite happy with my new placement. Amybeth did you get a new placement too? Justanillusion and I are still at the same hospital however some of the Wyandott group moved around to different hospitals.

Yea thanks for the 'oguesswhat clinical group your in' call oguesswhat! I'm so glad I went to the flu clinic because I will use that get out jail free card when I'm getting fed up.
