HFCC clinical assignments

Heya- Does anyone know when HFCC will do clinical assignments for Winter?

What semester are you? I know Nsg 250 is up. And I think one other semester is as well...but I don't know which one it is for sure.

I have 155 and we did the lottery for clinicals the same day we had our finals. Which clinical days do you have?

Sorry to hear about 155! That class sucked; lost lots of ppl. But glad to hear you're back in! Who are your instructors (initials only)? 221 was hard too, all the cardiac meds!!! But it was easy in terms of studying - way more focused than 155. You will kick butt!!! Are you planning on doing an externship? It made a tremendous differ for me in terms of confidence. I graduate in May and cannot wait!!! So sick of school!!!!

Oh, it's no big deal for re-taking 155. I was pregnant& had REALLY bad morning sickness (and afternoon, and evening!) - I was also on that brutal 2 day schedule. Class in the AM, then off to clinical, class in the AM next day and clinical again. So, it's no wonder I didn't make it. I missed it by 2 points. Oh well. I am so geared now, though! And a beautiful baby to show for it! :)

Anyway, I have clinicals this time around on Thursday and Friday. I don't know if I should go up to the school and check out the bulletin board yet or not.

Amybethf- I DO plan on applying for an externship. Actually, the place you work at is where I'd like to apply. Any tips??

The hospitals for choice on those days are: Henry Ford Detroit (some spots open) , Garden City (lots of spots open), Oakwood (spots left) and Wyandotte (may be full)

Garden City was so empty that I have a feeling that Wyandotte people will be moved over to that location.

I hope that helps you to at least get an idea of what's out there for clinicals.

Veruka - they just did their hiring for externships. Keep in contact with Myra in HR @ Wyandotte, and she can update you with the next set of interviews. Congrats on the baby!

Thanks, Amybeth! They usually hire in April or May, too, right? Hope so! I just found out that I am there for clinical, so hopefully I will do well & make some good contacts! :)

Hi! You reminded me to come back onto this thing. Anyways..I forgot to tell you, I talked to K and said we should probably review the math before we take the test! let me know. Im glad we have a week before we go back to school.. lots of time to mentally prepare lol

Yes, definitely on the review! I actually printed out the practice test from the K drive yesterday! LOL! Talk to you after the holidays, and thanks for checking the clinical assignments! :)
