Hey Where Is Everyone From...

I'm Whitney, 36, mom of 4 (1 girl (13), and 3 boys (11,9, & 7), married almost 15 years, and live in a tiny New Hampshire town. I started taking pre-req's almost 10 years ago, had another baby, then got back on track about a year and a half ago. I applied to the ADN program at the school I was going to last year, but didn't make it in, so joined the General Studies program instead.

I've been maintaining a 3.85 average, and this December decided to apply early to every school w/in an hour's driving distance. I found out a few weeks ago that I made it into two of them, and am facing a choice of an expensive private Catholic college (which I just found out I won a substantial scholarship to) or a tech college (which is good too, but only downfall is I'd have to be an evening student, w/clinicals on Thursday and Friday nights - BLAH!).

Whatever I do will be a challenge. I'm a Type 1 diabetic on an insulin pump, trying to achieve tight control, which I'm sure I WON'T be doing during nursing school. But at least the pump is geared for stuff like this - I don't have to eat on any schedule anymore, like I did with MDI. That is why I love, LOVE my pump! (something only a diabetic could say! :chuckle )

31, married with 2 boys ( 4 and 6), from Wisconsin. Been doing pre-req's for the last year and a half. Hoping to get an acceptance letter soon, although I will probably still be on a waiting list.

I'm not in nursing school yet, but I hope and pray that I will be soon. I'm 27 (YIKES!) and have a 4 year old daughter and a soon to be 1 year old son. I've been married for 5 years and we live in Richmond Va.
