:o Hello all, i'm a new member, and i just join in allnurses.com today. Today, I'm very sad and frustrated because i just fail my 1st hessi practice at school. Im really upset because i had spend my whole week to read over the Saunder book, went over the hessi package review from school gave, but the test doesn't have any info about what i had been study. Most of question asking about what the Unlicensed Assistant Nurse care for pt/ can do for pt, and i currently school for LPN not the CNA job, so i don't have any experience how to answer these questions. Can any of you give me the information about hessi practical exam online for LVN/LPN, because i really have to pass the hessi in other to pass the NCLEX. If i don't pass the Hessi, my school won't send my paper work to the state board. Now, i'm very worry and upset. Wishing to have the reply from all whose read my message. Thanks

Hey star, I want you to think like a nurse. You are going to be a leader of a team. The aides do the jobs you or a RN deligates. That save you from doing some things so you can attend to more things only you can do. This is critical thinking time. You must know what is in the job description or criteria for the aides so you can tell them what they can do and deligate. There are things the LVN or RN MUST do. Critical thinking is all about order and priority what comes first, and who can do what and what can wait. The aides will look to you for guidance. If you look at your job as a paycheck or I just need to this and Im done WELL is that the kind of nurse you want taking care of you. Heres the help. Everything the aide does is your job too if you are understaffed which a given there will be timed you must do the bathing walking turning etc. If you walk in and see a aide doing something wrong you are ultimately responsible. Help teach and train the aide in a better technique. I want you to succeed. Go back to assessment and critical thinking.

Star, IM so glad you read my message. Friend are awesome. Stick together. Study together. Not visit you all worked hard to get here. I know I sound all buisness but I want you to succeed. Use the hessi as a tool and the workbooks. The weak points. Study those. I love peds but when I was in school I was going through a heart wrenching divorse with a 3 year old to boot. Moved in with my parents which wasnt that great either. So that semester just was a blur for me. I really had to go back and study the diseases assessment and meds alot more. thats an example. I thought the hessi was not that bad. I made like in the B range but it doesnt compare to the nclex. Dont let that scare you but let it work for you. cont to study every day a certain section at a time. Also taking cre of yourself getting rest and spending time with people you care about is ust as important.

NCLEX the questions will be hard because usually there are 2 right answers. I mean both seem right but a good nurse will know which one saves time which one is more critical which one can be deligated to a lvn or aide etc. Know your cardiac drugs the majors also the endocrine system can get you all twisted with the hypo and hyper. Sounds easy but sometimes its hard for some. I didnt have that many math prob cant say about how yours will be. Get more than one nclex review book. that helps. the cds help you get through info on your computer more. Im sure you know all this and Im repetitive but if you have any specific questions Id love to help. My school that I graduated from for RN has a 98% pass rate for the NCLEX

GOOD LUCK talk at ya again. Smiles04
