Nursing Students NCLEX

:) Hi Everyone,

I have two questions regarding Hesi and NCLEX test.

Any infor provided would be helpful in preparing for the Hesi exit exam.

1. How many questions are on the Hesi test ?

2. Is the Hesi test as difficult as the NCLEX exam?

I am only 7 weeks of completing the LVN to RN course. I have been taking HESI for every term, so I have taken 4. Now we have one every week in te subjects that we have completed. I have scored between 866 - 951. The conversion scores (according to our instructors would be 86 to 95% or so). The thing that really helped me to study for the HESI is a book made from HESI called the NCLEX-RN review. It is made from Elsevier company. IT was a BIG help for me, so maybe you guys can check out the book. IT really HELPS big time.:yeah:

The Hesi test is so much harder than the nclex itself. When I took my Hesi I had 160 questions and it was awful but when I took the nclex 3 weeks ago I thought that is was so easy. My computer shut off at 85 questions

What did you score on your Hesi exit exam? We have to get a 900 in order to graduate. I'm very nervous. I have been reading the Hesi book and CD along with the Saunders RN book and Kaplan book.

In our program we have a total of 11 HESI test we need to test on. I was scoring off at around 850 on the first 3, but then I finally realized the HESI book, it also comes with a CD and has many questions on them, and the book highlights all the important information about the HESI test. I am recommending this book to all that is worried about the HESI test. This book helped me raise my score to 990's. Hope this helps...:nurse:

hey its not that bad!you only have to make an 850 or 900 out of 1600, which equates to about a 55-60% your in line to pass so relax! you have earned your seat in school just enjoy it:yeah: god bless

is the HESI an indicator on how sucessful you will do on the NCLEX?

Are there more questions in a certain area of the hesi test than others or is about even? eg. more chemistry than math? I am not thrilled about the physics or math sections. Any suggestions on what to study? Thanks.

In my school we need to make it 95 percent! I took it last week and scored 87% or 923 but still need to retake...my classamates who scored 94.7 still need to retake it, but the worst thing is....we have to pay 50 dollars for every time we take the test.

what practice cds are you guys talking about?> Also if your going to school for lvn do u have to take the hesi ? thank you :D

hello

i just took the hesi enterance exam test and i really did bad :( the only subject i did well in was math. i want to improve my score in vocabulary and anatomy and would like help. does anyone know of any good websites or study material i can purchase. i already have the hesi admission assessment exam review and also i am studying from the kaplan nursing school entrance exams.

p.s please note who ever is taking the hesi exam, keep track of your time. ( b/c i took my time in math so i didn't have much time for the rest of the test)

good luck to those who are going to take the test.

thank you

I just graduated, but in our program we have to take HESIs every semester.. I've only passed 2. We have to score about an 850. I failed my comprehensive HESI 2x, and I'm going to retake it next week. If we fail twice we have to enroll in a Review Course and show a completion certificate, pay $40 every time. And we get an incomplete on our transcripts. They make us take in 3 times, and the 3rd time really doesn't mean anything, we just had to have done the course, pay the fee, and pass or fail, we get our final transcript. I'm not too worried about it because I keep scoring in the 830s in the 80-85% range and my Director says that is a pretty good indicator of passing boards. I've heard from A LOT of people that HESI is so much harder than Boards. After reading all these posts about HAVING to pass HESI and such I feel lucky.. Anyways, Good Luck!

There are 7 different versions for exit hesi. So success is depends on what version you get, also the school can request for easy or hard questions. My school is nation's toughest nursing program with 100% passing rate on boards and we needed 950 to pass and I just made it today:nurse:. Dont get fooled by people when they say "not to study". You need a lot of hard work and no single source alone will help you. READ THE HESI BOOK INSIDE OUT(it is very important to go through evry bit of it), also practice questions as many as possible(no matter which source they are from), also hesi CD. Good luck
