HESI exit test takers.......

Has anyone recently taken the exit HESI-RN?

If so, please share your thoughts about the exam. What did you use to prepare and how long did you study?

What was the score set by your SON to deem passing? Did you do the HESI live review course. If so, what did you think about it.

I have read every HESI thread that exists on here and most threads are old.

Also, who else is soon to take it? Lets encourage each other. ;)

Any advice/tips is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

How did you study for it?

I studied from Saunders. I read most of all the systems and took the questions at the end of the chapter. You will do fine if you studied. Lots of people in my class didn't pass, but not because they didnt know the material, it was because they didn't read the question correctly. Make sure you read the question, take your time, after 50 questions get up and step away from the computer. and do the same after you get to question 100. If you start to freak out, get up or just put your head down and try to relax. Take Maslow Hierachy into consideration (prioritize). You will do well. Just be positive.:monkeydance:

let me know how you do.

Did you study from the HESI Review Book too?

I have been doing tons of questions with mosby and springhouse cards and also with the lippincott 3500 CD. Thanks for your help. What was your score?

Nope, I didn't use the HESI book. I don't like the way they explain things. I read only saunders, didn't do that many questions, because no matter how many questions you do if you don't know the material then it doesn't work. Don't get me wrong, doing questions is good to know hwere you stand, but for me reviewing the material was better. I know some people that just did questions only and passed. I got a 948 on it. i had to get an 850 to pass it. Just make sure that you do not study all day before the test because you will go nuts. I was so stressed out, that I kept thinking "OMG, how am i going to remember all of this information!!" so i studied the day before for 5 hrs and then went to the movies and relaxed (it was hard to do so though). Just make sure that you calm yourself down, if you feel your heart beat increasing, slow yourself down. i started my test at 8 and finished at 11. :uhoh3: just say to yourself, that YOU WILL PASS IT. and believe it, take it easy and you will do fine.

Remember Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. A person's first priority is physiological needs, then safety and security, love and belonging, self-esteem, and self-actualization. Make sure physical needs are met before choosing a psychosocial answer. Also recall the ABC's: airway, breathing, and circulation. Ask yourself what is the highest priority. REMEMBER: YOUR FIRST CHOICE IS USUALLY THE RIGHT ONE, GO WITH YOUR GUT FEELING. :)

I PASSED! I PASSED! :balloons::balloons::monkeydance::balloons::balloons: Thanks all for the prayers!!!

i wouldn't say that i recommend it. i was forced to take it because it was a program requirement. so far i've only taken 1-6. got in the mid 50s-low 60s on 1-5, and a 69 on #6. actually, i hate kaplan because it makes me feel so incompetent. the questions are hard. kaplan recommends a score of 65% or better.
