HESI exams

Published

I have read on here a lot about people who have to take entrance and exit Hesi tests or a hesi test on each course. At my school, after the first semester, all of our tests are hesi tests. We have to purchase the first two for each class and then the school pays for the second two. Does any other school do it like this? Thanks for any replies. :)

We have to take the HESI for each quarter we complete, and must pass. However, our instructors make their own exams that we also must pass to move on. We do most of it through evolve, and so far the practice tests on there are much harder than the actual hesi!

Our "comprehensive finals" for the nurse tests like psychiatric, acute care, foundations, etc. involve a Hesi. I like them. They're not very hard.

I love the hesi exams!! I think they are super easy. Even when I don't know the material, I can usually figure out the answer. Most of my classmates, however, really struggle with them. I hear a lot of complaining about how unfair it is that some of the material in the exams is not covered in lecture or in the textbook. I will agree that it sucks we have to pay for the first two exams but other than that I am happy with them.

Ditto all that.

I really despise paying for a CD box only to get a little green card out of it that I don't do anything but write my name on and hand to a teacher. That type of foolishness and inefficiency drives me nuts.

In our program we have an entrance HESI and a HESI at the end of 2nd and third semester. Then we have an exit HESI at the end of fourth semester. The only one that we are required to pass is the exit HESI. If you fail one before that you have to do "remediation" which translates to case studies on the specific material you missed. These tests are in addition to our other class tests. They add 60.00 to every semester when we register to pay for "testing fees".

HTH!
