HESI Entrance Exam....

Published

Well, I passed. I know it is probably considered the least of the exams I need to worry about on this road I've chosen to travel, but I did not know anything about it, sooooo....I am so happy I did it! Passed with a 91.41%.

I originally joined this site WAY back in 2003 under the name of Zorya and I have been chasing this idea of nursing since then. For many reasons, I have been unable to do what was needed to get started and now I'm finally getting the opportunity to go through the steps and complete what I've been wanting to do for a LONG time. YAY me! It just figures I would be getting started during the worst economic downturn, but it's what I've wanted to do...

Congrat's!! Good for you.. Better late then never I say.. I procrastinated myself.. What school did you take your hesi at?

Thanks much, Johnson! When did you start and finish?

Same on this end greenfire. I had been toying with the idea of nursing since 2006. At one point, I also pursued the idea of occupational therapy; I shadowed some great therapists and everything! But finally, I made my decision to pursue nursing. Congrats on your score! Yes, we are in for a bumpy ride (economic dowturn and all). But we will make it through just fine! Good nurses are always needed! :w00t:

Congrats! I too will be taking the HESI soon...May 13th...the end of spring semester and right before summer semester begins. I'm so nervous!

Congrats! Same here..going back to finish what I started 8 years ago (OMG I'm old!!! lol)

We've got perfect timing huh..NOT. BUT it will be just fine. Best of luck!

All I can say, is that if you get your proportions, solve for x ratios down really well and you know a lot of the more basic math like fractions (adding, multiplying, subtracting, dividing) decimals, etc you'll prob do just fine on the math portion. Also of note, are the "what is 20% of 100" questions and conversions of cups, pints, quarts, gallons, etc..... The surprising part to me, is that I only made an 88 in vocabulary (I'm usually pretty accomplished at that)! My brain completely shut down on the meaning of ubiquitous.....

I didn't have one single question on Roman numerals....

I used the evolve study book and got through quite well (the testing people said it usually takes about 4 hrs, but I was out of there in 93 minutes and 37 seconds!). I give all the credit to the evolve study book.

Congrat's to all that passed the hesi!! Where will everyone be going to school at? I haven't scheduled my hesi yet. I took the first step and passed the SLE, now I'm studying the hesi evolve book.. I'm nervous but excited at the same time.. Good Luck to everyone!!!:yeah:
