Hi, I am applying for UT health science center and was wondering what people have scored on their Hesi A2 exam..?, so I can see what the approximate average score is....
Mine was
1) Reading Comprehension: 86.96
2) Meaning-Word Use: 100
3) Conclusions: 100
4) Implications: 91.67
5) Understanding: 75
6) Grammar: 94
7) Vocabulary & General Knowledge: 90
English Language composite Score: 90.32
8) Biology: 84
9) Chemistry: 100
10) Anatomy & Physiology: 96
Science Composite Score: 93.33
11) Math: 100
Cumulative Score: 92.99
Critical Thinking Score: 820

you dont even have to worry about anatomy part its very easy and general questions. i spend a long time studying that part which it was a big mistake.

really?? do you remember any type of questions? questions like of the heart and stuff like that?

The thing about the A&P is that you know it or you don't. There is just SO much they could pull from, it seemed like they were either really easy or I didn't know them. I just took A&PII this summer so most thing were pretty fresh. If you have taken A&P then I wouldn't recommend studying much but if you haven't there is a list of topics in the PDF I posted earlier.

Does anyone know when you call Evolve to send your scores to other schools, what information do you need provide them with? And is it through email or through standard mailing they send scores to the schools? Thanks!

Hi all! I just took the HESI for the first time the other day. I was pleased with how I did overall (94.3%)! My lowest score was in the A&P section on which I scored an 84%. Is that an acceptable score? Considering that I'm not even finished with A&P I yet, I thought it was pretty decent (taking A&P II next semester). But, that being said, "decent" doesn't cut it for really competitive accelerated BSN programs like George Mason University... Does anyone know how an 84% on the A&P section stacks up? After taking the HESI sections your school requires, take as many of the rest as you have time for. If you don't get accepted where you want, you might find yourself applying to a different school that requires additional sections. You don't want to pay to take the test again.

Can someone explain how to schedule for certain sections of the exam? I'm also applying to George Mason and signed up for the exam in 2 weeks, but it says to give it 4 hours when GMU's site says the test takes almost 6 hours for all the sections they require. I'm very confused. Signing up for the exam itself seemed tricky for some reason (The site made it look easy but mine didn't work quite like they showed it since I supposedly missed the registration email and had to email them). I'm gonna hate myself if I paid $100 and I wasn't given all sections that were required.

Can anyone help me out? I'm not sure emailing [email protected] again would help as much as hearing it described from you all... The way they answered my 1st email was confusing to me, but luckily they resent my registration email and I signed up through Prometric Services: Testing and Assessment.
It should be the same exam, but wondering how to ensure the sections necessary are taken.

Hi Ellie! Glad to finally hear from someone else applying to Mason! I think I can shed some light on your concern about making sure you take all the required HESI sections. I took the exam at a Prometrics testing center in Falls Church, VA. Once you've gotten your registration confirmed, all you need to do is show up to the testing center on the day of the test. Show up about 30 minutes or so before your appointment time, as they tend to get pretty busy (they offer many, many different types of tests there). They'll get you checked in, assign you to a specific computer, and pull up the test for you on the computer to which you've been assigned. The exam proctor will lead you to the computer and there will be a menu screen on the test. The menu will list all the different sections on the test (including the ones that you don't need to take for Mason, like Chemistry and Biology). From that menu, you can go through and take each required section of the test in whatever order you'd like. So, bottom line, registering for the test enables you to take any and all sections of the HESI.
Regarding the timing, you will have 4 hours to complete the required sections, but it really doesn't take that long. I think I finished in about 2 and a half hours. Good luck!!!

Awesome! That helps clear things up. Thanks so much! If I have extra time, maybe I'll go ahead and try to take the extra sections just to be safe.
I'll be at the same testing center in Falls Church too :) I started off signing up for the Bethesda location cause the exam on Dec 14th for Falls Church disappeared and doing it this Sat or early next week didn't seem realistic for study time, then after I signed up, I doublechecked and just my luck... the Dec 14th slot showed up in Falls Church again, lol... so $100 later, I signed up for Dec 14th in Falls Church. phew! Good to know I dont needa worry about the registration anymore and whatnot. Just need to study well these next 2 weeks.

Ughh I know... it's very pricey. I had to reschedule mine too because I had previously made travel plans that I'd totally forgotten about. Even after taking the test, I really have no idea what Mason considers to be a good score. My problem is that I started my first semester of prereqs this past August, so I've taken less than half of the Anatomy and Physiology requirement. The test definitely covers A&P material from part II of the course as well. I scored a 94% on the test overall, but A&P was definitely my weakest section (84%). I hope that doesn't hurt my chances too much... I was thinking about writing a brief letter of explanation to the admissions committee to explain that I've only taken part of the course. Any thoughts?
