1/5/2018 HESI A2!!

Published

Alright, I'm taking the HESI A2 in less than a month from now. I have a few questions regarding this exam.

1. How difficult is the math? Is is just like the math that's in the pocket prep app?

2. The A&P? I got told it's the most problematic section for most students. I have been using the pocket prep app like crazy studying.

3. How about the grammar & reading comprehension. I feel those are the easiest subjects for myself but I know they can be tricky. I also been using pocket prep.

My school is requiring math, grammar, reading & A&P, along with the critical thinking.

Im wanting to pass the first go around. Help?! I will be glad to post my scores after the test to help anyone out.

Hey y'all, just wanted to update y'all. I cancelled my appointment to take the HESI on feb 5th. I am just not ready and not feeling confident at all. I am upset because I know the longer I wait the longer I am prolonging getting into nursing school but I think this is best for me right now.

Let me know how y'all do.

I'm sorry you feel this way. I went into it feeling this exact same way and ended up getting a 90+. I really thought I failed every section as I was taking it. I believe you'll do well. If you've been studying and getting high grades on multiple practice exams, you should do well. I hope you'll feel better prepared the next time you sign up for it. Good luck to you!

I took the test! Didn't do bad for the first time considering how nervous I was and anxious. Math-88

Reading-82

Grammar-74 (have to retake)

A&P- 84

Critical thinking-820

My advice is to go in there and not be nervous! I reread the questions 2-3 times. It wasn't difficult but it will throw tricky questions, especially in grammar. I'm hoping to pass with an 80+ next go around! If anyone has any hints or advice for the grammar section please share!

I took the test 2/3/18

The A&P section was very difficult because they test you on a variety things... I did have the ear question, and one of two related to directional terms, two related to the ureter and urethra, and one or two related to the heart muscles... the A&P section was not easy please prepare yourself but not only studying from the pocket prep, Hesia (Evolve Booklet), but please pick up your AP TeXTBOOK and study front to back because the questions came from everywhere...

All other sections were very basic.... Math know military time (1 question) Metric System ( at least 10 )

Grammar/ Vocabulary/ Comprehension---- know what it means to "infer" HESIA booklet helped maybe 5-10 words came from there but they were basic everyday vocabulary words... Know when to use an " ; there their they're...to too two...and him himself and etc....

Does anybody have any advice for grammar? oddly that is my weakest subject for the HESI. I am taking version 2 on 3-6-18.

I used grammar book online. It was great.

What resources did you use for the Critical Thinking? Thanks

Does anyone have experience with ReadyfortheHESI? I am thinking about getting the A&P section but it costs $37 and I don't know if it's worth it. I have the Elevieser book and the Pocket Prep app. I am most concerned about A&P section. I took the HESI last year, it was a last minute decision and I had only a week to study and my scores were:

Reading 90

Math 80

Grammar 88

Vocab 98

A&P 72

Critical Thinking 850

Update on my Scores. Retook the HESI.

MATH- 88

READING- 88

GRAMMAR- 74 (still my weakness)

A&P- 84

CT- 840

Average- 84.5%

Fingers crossed for entrance into my ADN program.

Thanks for the info and congrats on your score. I am new in this blog but I have been reading it since I started school. I am taking the Hesi A2 this coming week and I am so nervous.
