It's been a long time since I've been on here, so howdy everyone! I will be starting Herzing Psych NP Program this January. I haven't been in school in a while and my traditional BSN program did not require much writing. My writing skills kinda suck LOL. How is the writing, discussion posts, teachers, assignments, exam for the program at Herzing? I do come with over 5 years in psych experience and I am anxious to start. Anyone starting and would like to buddy up? Any current students? Is the program doable? Tips, suggestions? When should I start looking for preceptors?
I finished my first class for my certificate for PMHNP and its good. They are organized, they have a student coordinator that will help you. So far, I have good experience with this school.
BTW, any thoughts on the Clinical proficiency exam and the right materials to study? I already have my FNP and will take the test for Pharmacology, Pathophysiology and Advanced Health Assessments. t. Any recommendations?
Maybe buy the APEA book that's what I used to study along with doing lots of practice questions. The first year at Herzing was wonderful then it went south, maybe because the professor were so inconsistent after year 1, they try to hold you back, you will see when you get there. Even tho I passed the APEA exam I left and transferred to another school with better work life balance. I have 1 semester left to graduate at the school I transferred to. Thank God! Hopefully Herzing has changed for the better after firing the dean of the PMHNP program in January. Good luck!
